AKL - 2 DVC resorts?

Hi,
Quick question - is AKL counted as 2 seperate DVC resorts now, or do you just "own" at AKL - i.e. can you book either Kidani or Jambo at 11 months out?

AKV is one resort. Doesn't matter which building your points are attached to. You can reserve either at beginning of your booking window.

One resort (AKV), but two locations which will be specifically booked. When you book you will either be told Jambo or Kidani, or you can choose if both are available. There are differences in the rooms. Jambo is made from converted regular rooms, so the 1 and 2 bedroom villas there will not have the extra bath off the front hall like the Kidani units will. Also, there are Value and concierge units at Jambo which will not be available at Kidani.

It's all one resort. The "original" AKV units (called Jambo House) were just converted rooms on the 5th & 6th floors of the existing Animal Kingdom Lodge. The "new" AKV (called Kidani) is a separate building dedicated just to DVC units.

By converting those AKL rooms into AKV units 2 years ahead of the new building being finished they were able to start selling a new resort between the time SSR would be selling out and announcement of BLT.

Yes they do have studios.

Kidani will have studios but they will all be lockoffs. Jambo House has both dedicated studios and lockoffs.

82 2BR Lockoffs (1BR + Studio)
6 Grand Villas

Kidani Village
140 Dedicated 2BRs
168 2 BR Lockoffs (1BR + Studio)

Does anyone know what floors the Savannah View rooms will be at Kidani? 5th and 6th floors sound too high up to see the animals properly.

Kidani is all DVC so you will have the option to stay on a lower floor there. I also prefer the animal viewing from lower floors so I'm looking forward to giving Kidani a try!
