Would it be worth it to stay at AKL for just 1 nite? We have all wanted to stay there and our APs run out 3-31, so this will be our last trip for a while. It is also a last minute trip, so we didn't have enough $$$$ to spend alot on a resort. So, we are doing AS Mus for 5 nites and were planning on coming home and then I got this bright idea to stay AKL on 4-1, just for 1 nite. Hang around the resort all day, explore. Would it be worth it?????

In my opinion, depending on how much money you have to spare- yes! It is worth it for one night!
If you plan on exploring the resort for the whole day, pack your bags and move over to AKL right away! They can store your luggage until your room is ready, and there are tons of things to do/look at there! You can even pack a beach bag or two and change in the rest rooms by the pool and enjoy the pool/hot tubs/play area/kiddie pool/outdoor refreshment stand- etc.

There are all sorts of African artifacts to learn about all over the lobby; the shop is amazing, and even going up over Victoria Falls (lounge) and looking out over the pool area is neat!!

Have a great time, whatever you decide.....

Since you are planning on taking the time to enjoy the resort, and not just sleeping there, I think it is very worth it! I think it would be great to have a savannah view room, spend the day exploring the resort, have dinner at Boma or Jiko, and then have dessert or drinks on the balcony, looking at the animals.

Just staying there would be a wonderful end to a trip, and such a relaxing time after an AS stay and park hopping.

Have a great time!

YES! I agree with every point the other posters made, plus check the schedule for the storytelling around the fire pit if it is not too crowded. It was very relaxing to sit and rock in front of the fire and listen to a story. we did it twice - both times the story was the same, but entertaining both times.

We stayed one night last summer and it was worth it. We didn't want to deal with the construction at the BWV's anymore so we left a day early to stay at AKL. We checked in at 9:30am and checked out at 11:00am the next day. We only left for an hour to go to DD to get my ds's bday present. I didn't even want to leave to do that, but it was our last day and we had too. That day we stayed there was the best day of our trip. We hung out by the pool for most of the day. We did stay in concierge so we did enjoy relaxing in the lounge through out the day as well. They have so many acticivties planned through out the day. We were only able to do a few of them. I love this resort and I can't wait until we go back:D

Yes definitely worth a 1 night stay. Especially if you plan on spending the day there. It is a great resort for just hanging out in!! I spent several hours just sitting in the lobby one day reading. THe chairs in the lobby are soooo comfortable. Also, the pool is a great place to relax - very serene setting.

Definately worth it, if you are going to hang around the resort and enjoy it.
