(I posted this on the Dining board - but I haven't gotten any response. I didn't know if anyone here might know...)

I have been to CMs w/ my then almost 2 yr old and didn't have any problems with getting her food there - I just made her own little plate from the buffet. How does Akersus Princess Dining work (since it is family style from my understanding)? We are getting the DDP and I already have ADR. The menu says that there are entree selections. Will they bring me pasta and hot dog or will I have to pay for that? (I'm not going to buy her food, I'll bring it if needed. She doesn't eat enough for a fly!)

Also - do adults get to choose more than one entree? Thanks!

The food at that restaurant is very different, I will eat almost anything and I was disappointed. That being said, if your daughter is less than 3 yrs old she can eat off the appetizer buffet, which consists of some weird stuff like deli meat, pickled herring, etc (it was a weird selection, maybe cause I'm not from Norway!). They will not bring her a children's meal unless you pay for it. I have heard the breakfast there is good. There are about 4 dinner entrees to choose from, none of which I was looking forward to eating.

We just ate here last week for dinner and saw the princesses. They do have a children's menu. Pizza, ravs., chicken breast. The regular dishes for adults were OK also. I am a picky eater and wasn't looking forward to the food. My daughter and I went because my neices (4yo twins) were going. I ate my dinner and my daughter ordered off the children's menu. I can't remember the name of what I had, but it was kind of like a meat loaf with mashed potatoes. I'm sure you're daughter will LOVE seeing the princesses.

At Akershus, first you get a nice picture taken with a princess (included). Then you are seated, give your drink and entree order and go up to the cold buffet area which is really just a regular salad bar with some smoked fish and meats added in. The salad is serve-yourself but the rest of the meal is served plated like a regular restaurant. Only the desserts are served family style on a platter to share. Check out the menus on this site or allears.net. As far as your dd's meal, there is some cheese, cold cuts and fruit on the salad bar. Maybe she would eat this plus a little bread?

Good luck. FWIW, we really enjoy Akershus. The food is okay, the dining room is very pretty and the princess interaction is great. :thumbsup2
