How does everyone feel about the princess dinner at Akershus? We've done 1900 Park Fare and loved it, but DD9 would like to meet more than just Cinderella.

We are eating here for dinner for the first time Nov 19th. From the reviews I've read, it's a great princess dinner alternative to Cinderella's Royal Table. I wish I could give you firsthand information, but I can't yet! If you search this forum for Akershus you will find some threads with good info. :goodvibes:goodvibes

Took my 21 year old daughter last year and she loved the photo they took and the meal was great. As a redhead herself she loved talking to Ariel with legs.:)

Oh good! Which princesses go to the dinner? I know about Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel and Snow White, but are there any others?

When we were there on the 11th Snow White was not there. We saw Jasmine instead. The food was not good the night we were there. The service and character interaction left something to be desired also. Hope you have a better experience than we did.

Thanks. Well as long as there are 4 or 5 princesses, that would be great. And we aren't really going for the food, just the character experience. But I do hope the food is good for mine and DH's sake.

I can't wait.... we go on 11/11/10. I made the girls cotton dresses so they can comfortable wear them all day in the parks. DD3 will be Cinderella, DNeice3 will be Sleeping Beauty, and DNeice2 will be Snow White.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:Can't, wait to see their faces when the see real princesses. They will freak out.

We went in January and loved it. The food was way better than the castle. The service was great and we were the first family to meet Belle. In addition to Belle we saw; Jasmine, Auora, Cinderella, and Ariel. We booked again for our trip this January  The first photo package was great too!

This was our favorite meal during our last visit! Food was great all around. We met Belle, Snow White, Jasmine, Cinderella, and Aurora...

We LOVED it. Absolutely the best character interaction we had the last trip. We did Cape May, Crystal Palace, Garden Grill and Akershus...Akershus was awesome and the food was good.

BTW - the kids were 13 (girl) and 5 (boy).

My 9yo son just requested to go there on our next trip because he really liked the eggs there. :) I find it much calmer than the castle. I thought the character interaction was fine - DS isn't really into characters, but I recall that when dining there on our trip this June, he was excited about something (I don't remember what, but I bet he does) and wanted to talk to each princess about it. They were all very kind and gracious and engaged him in conversation each time.

We thought it was really good when we went in July. We are going back in November. Character interaction was great and each princess spent alot of time with my DD. I had the Pork Chop dinner and it was good Dh had the pasta and it was good but he was still hungry.

We went last November and really liked both the food and princess interaction. I recommend it as an alternative to CRT.

Cheers!

Max

I am glad to hear of such good reviews since we will be eating there on our upcomming trip. :thumbsup2

We were able to get a breakfast ADR yesterday for our trip in two weeks.
Any breakfast feedback?

add me to the fan list! we love akershus. last year we saw ariel, snow white, cinderella, sleeping beauty, and belle. the princesses were all very attentive and spent lots of time at our table. the food was pretty good, especially the fresh berries and potato casserole (we had breakfast).

have a great time!

I went on a solo trip back in September and Akershus was among the places I went to for breakfast (the other character dining was over at Cindy's in the MK.). I'm not a big breakfast kind of guy (eggs, bacon, etc.) but the food served was out of this world. The wait staff definitely goes out of their way to give you a great table and great service. And the princesses were wonderful and extremely friendly. I especially enjoyed Ariel's company when she came and visited me. Akershus was the best place for a character meal I've had so far and it'll be a regular place for me not only for breakfast, but to taste what their lunch and dinner entrees are like.

A true :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 from me. I hope that your experience is just as memorable. :goodvibes

We went at breakfast rather than dinner, but I think it's one of the best experiences in the parks, and it's only 1 TS credit instead of the 2 that CRT requires.

Our DD was adopted from China, so we deliberately veered toward the character breakfast that offered more ethnically diverse princesses, and we were fortunate enough to have both Jasmine and Mulan at our breakfast (and Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White, and Belle... it was a banner day!).
