Does any one know if you can order this for dinner? We were originally going there for lunch but switched to dinner. Soup and Sammie was a casualty. Any help would be appreciated!:cheer2:

OOPS! Misspelled! Ya gotta excuse me small town education! I meant Akershus. Thanks!:thumbsup2

Hi,

Sorry about that - it took me a few years before I could PRONOUCE Akershus, much less spell it ;) !

That used to be one of my favorite restaurants. I haven't been back since they Princess'd it, but it's still a buffet, and I don't think there are sandwiches on the menu, even at lunch. I think you mean the Kringla bakery, which is in the same Norway location - they have a soup and sandwich special (I've copied this from the menus on All Ears):

Kringla Daily Chef's Selection - Your choice of open-faced sandwich with a cup of Jarlsberg and Leek cheese soup, accompanied by your choice of rice cream, veiled maiden or no sugar added chocolate mousse

I'm sure that this is available all day! You can look at all the menus on AllEars - here's the link:

Take care!

KC:)

There is soup and sandwich on the lunch menu at Akershus, so I think that's what the OP means.

Lunch items are often available for dinner, since the restaurant keeps the ingredients on hand; it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Oh, you're right - sorry, I hadn't noticed it (there didn't used to be a sandwich). But I have to say, unless I wanted to see the princesses, I'd rather pick up the soup and sandwich at the bakery, since it's less than half the price...

I definitely agree, but for so many others, the princesses are where it's at. I miss the old buffet. :(
