We couldn't get in at CRT since we decided a little "last minute" to do this. Do the little girls wear their princess dresses to Akershus?

Also, if anyone has any pictures or experiences with this experience, please share!!!

There are ABSOLUTELY many little princesses in Akershus! Your little girl will not be out of place. :) When we were there in March, Sleeping beauty was playing with a little girl, probably around 2 or so. They were playing "hide and seek" around the nearly empty restaurant..and every time Sleeping Beauty would find her she would give the little girl two big kisses on the cheek :)
It was super cute and child was beside herself with happiness :)

I'm sure they don't have time to play hide and seek everyday but we were there at a slow time. I highly recommend it :)

I have seen lots of little girls dressed up as princesses (in general) when I was there last December. I believe most of them, however, came from the BBB shops. Disney reserves a right to refuse entry to anyone who resembles their costumed CMs, but I'm sure they don't even take a second glance at the kids who come dressed up. :wizard:

Last year my 3 year old grand daughter wore her Belle dress (from home) to Akershus. I have the picture of her and Belle on my desk at work. It's one of my favorite pictures from the trip.

We were there Nov 07. My Girls were dressed up as were many others. So fun! All the princesses were there except for Sleeping Beauty...she was um sleeping. They were all wonderful and spent plenty of time with my Girls. My batteries died when Cinderella was at our table. She said to just go out and get some and she would be back...she actually came back. They were all super super nice. My oldest is quite chatty and had story after story to tell. All very patient.

You'll enjoy the experience.

You will definitely see plenty of little princesses, but, my daughters did not dress up and did not feel out of place.

The character interaction is fantastic! We went in 2007 and loved it so much we are going back this September. Granted our princesses are now 14 & 11, but they are very excited to be going back! princess:

OOh pictures, I have a few :)

Went there last Sept for breakfast with my friend and her (then) 2 year old. Food and interaction were great (one of our favorite meals of the whole trip). We had Belle in the greeting area, Snow White, Aurora, Areil, and... um...Cinderella (I just had to look it up ><)

By the way, the yellow dress was pure coincidence. It worked well though :).

We did this in May of 2009 by calling once we were already down at WDW when we learned that our granddaughters had not outgrown princesses after all. They loved it! Belle is always the hostess and a photo taken with her is included in the meal. They guarentee at least 3 other princesses. We also had Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Cinderella & Ariel.

I highly recommend Akershus! It was awesome! The princesses interacted with us so nicely and answered all of our silly questions (like what animal was Snow White's favorite - she was so spot on character!!!) My husband and I enjoyed it and my kids did too (even my son!). The cold buffet is nice (all you can eat shrimp - yum!) and the food is good.

I haven't been to CRT but Akershus was so wonderful that I have no desire to go to CRT. I think Akershus rocks ;)

A lot of the little girls there wore princess gear when we visited Akerhaus in December. This was our favorite meal of that trip. The food was very good, and meeting all the princesses in one shot was fantastic.
I also prefer this to CRT.

Yes, tons of little girls, including DD5, wore their princess dresses. As always, it was adorably sweet!

We did both CRT and Akershus on our last trip, and honestly I found the experience at Akershus to be preferable to CRT. Granted, there is a ton of magic associated with dining in the castle, but we found the princesses to be just as sweet at Akershus (and 4 of the 5 were the same, with Belle replacing Jasmine at Akershus), the service to be comparable, and the food to be far superior. The photo package from Akershus also came out much better, and I feel that's because the photographer was less rushed and needing to push the next family through.

I'd actually consider going to Akershus for the food (not that it's an issue, because I already know we'll be going back for the princesses), whereas we'd only do CRT again for the "castle experience".

Have fun!

There are little girls dressed up as princesses everywhere. I don't know how they could be out of place unless they were going to have a character breakfast at Universal Studios. :)

We LOVE Akershus for breakfast. It is a tradition of ours to go on our first full day (which BTW is always Epcot) before the park opens, we try to get an ADR for around 8am. The service, characters, food (especially the cheesy potatoes), and atmosphere is awesome. There are many little girls dressed in their favorite princess dresses, and the Princesses just go ga-ga over them, they go ga-ga over other guests dining as well. I think the character interaction at Akershus supersedes the character interaction at CRT....don't get me wrong we like dining at CRT as well, but that is more for the experience of dining in the castle. Have a great time :goodvibes And BTW, my girls are 9 and 6 and STILL request this character meal for each trip, even my DH requests it ;)

There were lots of little princesses at our May breakfast at Akershus. I agree with pp's, it's a great experience, yummy food, and great princess interaction.

Most of the girls I saw were not in BBB costumes, just looked like dresses from home. There were also lots of little girls not dressed up, either way your girls will have a great time. If you want to do the dresses, go for it!

Both of my girls (as well as about 60% of the other girls under 10 I'd guess) were dressed as princesses :)

We had an EXCELLENT experience there last summer. We went for breakfast and the food was some of the freshest we had during out stay. I didn't feel rushed and all of the princesses we saw that day spent enought time at our table to get good pics and have a bit of convo. We are going to try dinner for our upcomming trip but will most def. be returning! It'll probably remain a must do for us for a while since our girls love the princesses.

I have heard that the food is better at Akershus as opposed to CRT.

Some pics from our trip last summer, big ones but I'm too lazy to resize at the moment........

HOT and HUMID...I had them looking beautiful and glittery with curls in their hair when we left the hotel but by the time we got to Norway...well, they were hungry and hot and just wanted to eat. Oh and my DD#1 hit her head prior to the belle pictures...belle told her about how she has also hit her head lots of times as well LOL it helped :P

Also, these princesses actually got down to the table height to talk with my then just turned 2 year old which was sweet of them I thought.

Some food pics...

We had a great time. DD dressed like sleeping beauty and there were lots of other girls dressed up. Maybe half? We saw Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Cindy and Ariel. We went for dinner and were very pleasantly surprised by the food. It was some of the best we had our whole trip.

The princesses were great. DS was not really thrilled about eating here especially with the wait to get in (for the picture with Belle). That changed once the princesess starting comming around and making a fuss over him as much as his sister. This prompted one of our favorite quotes of the trip... "I love hugging princesses!"

We're planning to go again in Jan.

Have fun,
Heather
