I want something "a little different" for dinner and can't decide.
I am dining solo, using the dining plan.

One thought is that I can get Morrocan food at their quick service.
I am pretty sure I would enjoy the cold buffet at Norway.

Opinions, please! Many thanks.

Yes, the CS food at Morocco is an excellent choice for sure.

Akershus was great for a TS for us because we have 3 young girls - you get a free photo with Belle and the princesses all come to your table. I rate it high on atmosphere and service - for food, it was ok. The cold app buffet was good/interesting. All of our menu meals were just ok.

You mention being solo - I dont think it's a place I would pick (given all the choices you have, especially in Epcot) if I were going by myself - the food's just not good enough.

Bumping this to get some more opinions.
Thanks! :goodvibes

I used to love the food at Akershus but it's a character meal now - too noisy, too hectic, and I don't need to meet any princesses or get a picture taken with Belle (the picture is included in the price so one pays for it whether you want it or not - that's not really a consideration on the dining plan though). You don't mention your feelings toward a character meal or whether you're ambivalent toward them. I don't know how the food is now, though. It may have changed.

I'd do Marrakesh.

I haven't eaten at Akerhaus since they were a non-character buffet, but character meals solo are surprisingly a very good choice. There's plenty to see-the characters and children interacting. And unless you bear a striking resemblance to the characters there, no one will even notice you-they're only interested in seeing the characters. When at Morroco solo, I've only eaten at the CS place. I'm afraid that maybe their cultural attitudes about women might make them a little taken aback at seeing me solo. I could be totally wrong. If you do choose going there, I'd be interested to know how it is. But I guess the main reason I haven't gone there solo is that I like the CS place so much.

I have eaten at both several times and haven't had a bad meal at either. so honestly i don't think you can go wrong. I would say Akershus if you have kids and Marrakesh if you don't.

My family have eaten at both. I really think that Morroco would be better for you. At the dinner we had the belly dancers came out and provided some entertainment. That would definitely liven up your dinner. Norway is good as well, but much different and family oriented. We though both were delicious though.

In Florida? Really?

I'm talking about the staff, who's traditionally made up of exchange students from Morocco, mostly Muslim. I hope I'm wrong about my fears of how a solo woman might be seen. I'm just saying that's why I've been reluctant to go.

If the belly dancer doesn't faze them, I don't think the sight of any of us solo women diners would, either. ;)
I think Lyn should be ok dining solo there if she wanted to.

We really enjoyed Marrakesh. The service was wonderful and the food was really good.
