As our next Disney trip grows closer I am once again checking into restaurants. I have booked some of our favorites and a few that we haven't gotten to do...I did not make an ADR for Akershus but now I'm wondering....am I missing something? Should we try it? Will we like it?:confused3

It will be me, my Dad and my daughters 12 & 14 (no little princesses anymore)....what do you all think? Yea or Nay??

Here is where we are going~
Ohana's Dinner(everytime lol)
Tony's (new to us)
Coral Reef
Boma (dinner)
Tusker House Breakfast (new to us)
Prime Time (I think Dad will like this...girls hate it LOL)
Calif Grill (new to us)
Grand Floridian Cafe (lunch-new to us)

Thanks a bunch! :thumbsup2

Some people absolutely love it. Some disliked the food very, very much (us). All I know is that we booked our trip with less than 6 weeks out during free dining and I could have gotten a lunch or dinner at Akershus any day of the week, any time. It seemed to be the ONLY character meal available our entire trip. And no, I did not book it. No princesses for us this trip unless they are in the parks. Couldn't get a breakfast adr there anytime during our week. Take that for what it's worth.

I really enjoy Akerhaus. It is our favorite place to eat at WDW. We went before we had kids, when we had just a boy, and know that we have a little princess of our own. We really like the combo of buffet appitizers and then a served entree. The buffet is good and has alot of choices. Every entree we have tried, we have liked...any my husband tends to be picky. They also bring a plate of several desserts for the table to share. The pic with the princess at the door is a nice bonus and a fun keepsake. The princess interaction is great, even if you are not really "into" princesses. You get a very Disney feeling there.

We liked it there. :lovestruc The breakfast was really very good. I especially like the choices at the cold buffet, and the food they brought to the table was not to shabby! The potatoes were very yummy, but I think I liked best the fresh fruit, lox and bagles as well as the cream cheese and cheese assortments. :cloud9: I'm not saying the food brought to the table was bad because it was actually better than I thought it would be (thanks to all the negative reviews out there I wasn't sure what to think). I just liked the choices at the cold bar best...cause that's how I am. :goodvibes
As long as your going in with expectations that aren't five stars then I think you'll like it here. In the end it really comes down to your taste and having to try it to know if you like it.
There have been places I've tried that people hated it and I didn't see what the big deal was, and then there's places people rave over and I thought it was just EH. I think you should at least try it and see. :goodvibes

We always have found the food and service to be great.......I good change (not that we don't enjoy them too) from the standard mexican, italian and etc places we have found at other places and at home!

AKK

We love to eat there. My dh and I make a point to always eat there when we go to Epcot. Last time we brought my picky 12 yo brother and 16 yo sister and even they liked the food which amazed me. At the end of the month I'm bringing my 4 yo daughters

What kind of selections do they have on the cold bar? Is it a traditional salad bar?

Thanks!
