Akershus for dinner

We have been to Akershus for breakfast and now we are going to try it for dinner. Does anyone know if the you can order only one entree or if you can get a couple. We are afraid that we will order something that we don't like and would like to try a different one.

I'm confused as to what you are asking.. (Note.. I am not trying to be sarcastic there)..

This is a regular type of restaurant where you order your meal from a menu. You pick your meal. If you do not like it, I think it is kind of "on you" in that you are not going to get a replacement meal. When I was there two years ago, they had a salad bar, w/some side pasta salads that accompanied the meal.

My suggestion would be that if there is more than one adult, and you want to try different menu items, for everyone to order something different, and share.

NOTE 2: Dinner is not like their breakfast. It is not served family style/big skillet. Maybe that is what you are asking.

i just came back and we did the princess storybook dinner there. as the other poster said, there is a mini buffet before your entrees come out with some cheese, meat, and some seafood and pasta salads. I was not impressed with the food there, i tried the kjotkkake (sp?) and it was not good. as far as i know you can't get something else, you order it just like you would at any restaurant outside of WDW. it's worth it for the princesses if youre looking for a good character dinner though!

We will have to look at the menu again just to make sure. I'm guessing that the salmon or the pork would be a decent enough dinner but my wife isn't all the way thrilled. I was thinking of switching to the breakfast since we liked it so much. I like to schedule for the first thing to get in the empty park.

I was a little confused originally because of the meat bar/buffet. I figured if it was all buffet we could take a little of this and that to try it and not have to commit to it as our whole meal. But now that it has been clarified we'll have to take another look to make sure.

I LOVED Akershus for dinner! My kids and I loved the cold buffet with all you can eat shrimp - yum! And the meals we got were really good. The dessert is served family style and that was yummy (and fun to try all of them). The character interaction is terrific!! I highly recommend this place.

We just booked Akerhaus for lunch in December. The menu does look a little unusual, especially if you're not familiar with Norwegian food (I am not). That said, I am always up for experimentation. My wife, not so much. Is there a "safe bet" menu item?

I did get the kjottkake; nothing to write home about, but it was okay.

My other two dining companions ordered the salmon and the grilled pork chop; both ate a few bites and left the rest - they did not like it at all. But they loved the items on the buffet and went back a few times and were pleasantly full.

We were less than impressed with the dessert tray. I love the rice cream, but the mousse and three choices of sorbet were so-so.

We solely did it for the character interaction. We enjoyed the meal at 1900 Park Faire much more the night before.

It depends on what type of food she likes. I had the Mahi Mahi.. and it was very good. I suggest letting your wife checking out the menu on allears.net

Before Akershus became a Princess event, we would go to this place exclusively for the variety of herrings on the cold buffet table. Does anyone know if they still offer the herrings or is it now only the cheeses and salads?

Oh they definitely had like 8 types of herring on the buffet.
