I've looked everywhere, but I can't find a menu listing the items for the cold buffet. What exactly is on the cold buffet for dinner at Akershus? :confused3

If I remember right.. There were salads, cheeses, deli meats, fruit, bread.. I'm sure there is more, but that is what I can remember. I'm sure someone els can fill in any blanks! :)

For lunch/dinner it is salads: green, pasta, crab (probably fake), beets, potato salad, cold cuts and cheese cubes, lox, cold shrimp (sometimes) and several dipping sauces.

Thanks! I'm taking my DS2, and since he is too little for the dining plan, I just wanted to make sure there were plenty of things that he likes on the cold bar. :thumbsup2

I really enjoyed the cold bar. Lots of different salads, cheeses and deli meats. However, I took DS1 in Sept, and they let him order a separate meal for free. So he had plenty to eat. He got the ravioli and really enjoyed it. I was prepared to have him share DD3's plate, my plate and the cold buffet, but he got his own.

We had: deli meats, cubed cheeses, green salad with a couple dressings, shrimp salad, peel and eat shrimp, grilled marinated asparagus, wonderful soft rolls, two kinds of smoked salmon, and pickled herring. I think there was also fruit cup (mixed melon and grapes, IIRC--I don't like melon so I didn't have any). I vaguely remember the beet salad but I didn't try it--I don't like melon but I *loathe* beets.

There's a photo of my plate from the cold buffet in my dining report (link in my signature).

The cold buffet was wonderful. One of my dining companions was not so thrilled with her meal and went back up to the cold buffet for a few helpings. She especially loved the roast beef with fresh horseradish - she made a few sandwiches with the rolls they served, and had a few of the salads, and enjoyed it tremendously!

That would be so great! Normally I would just buy him his own meal, but I'm balking at $18 for a hotdog. :rotfl2:

Thanks for the pics- the food looks really yummy!

Good, it's nice to know that my DS can make a meal of the cold buffet if he needs to! :thumbsup2
