Hello - am just beginning research for our trip, but as we were planning on returning to Akershus for late lunch, I notice it's now a character meal. Does anyone know if this raised the price significantly? I can't remember what we paid a few years ago, but do know the character breakfasts are a lot more than "regular" breakfasts, and as my kids are 11 and 14 yo boys, the character aspect of this is not a draw. But - the food is our best option at Epcot. Is the character experience a big part of this (my kids would shrivel from embarrassment if the Princess came near them). Thank you!

Forgot - if indeed the whole Akershus experience has changed (bummer), what else would you recommend that is really unique at Epcot? Norway to us was the only really unique experience - we eat all the other cuisines at home (japanese, chinese, german is too heavy, mexican, too heavy too, morrocco, france, don't appeal, canada and england no big deal.....). Darn. We are so disappointed! Maybe counter service and save the $$ for Emeril's Pan Asian restaurant...or the restaurants at the AK Lodge??

I would say the AKL restaraunts are a great choice for you to have a unique dining experience.

Jiko at the AKL is definitely a great dining experience, I always recommend it.

However, Emeril's Tchoup Chop is fantastic, one of the best meals I've ever had. The atmosphere is gorgeous. The only problem is that they don't take DDE ;)

Edit: here's a link to Tchoup Chop's image gallery: http://www.emerils.com/restaurants/orlando_tchoupchop/gallery.php

There are pictures of the food there!!

Thank you - the menus still look good, and light - but - how pervasive is the Princess atmosphere?
Thank you for the Tchoup Choup link, have been psyched to go there!

Kids' meals - is the kids' age the same as entry kids (3-9) or is it a different ceiling?
thanks again!

But still wondering about the Princess atmosphere...

When is your trip? If it is not coming up too soon, I can give you all the details on this after we go to it on June 20.

Thanks -= we'll be there the same time as you, though! Bring on the ice cubes and sunscreen!
