We have an 8:05 reservation at Akershus on a day when Epcot (supposedly) opens at 9am. We are doing this entirely to get on FEA before the lines get crazy so that we don't have to use a FP for it (my kids prefer Soarin/TT, *I* am the one insisting on trying FEA). Other than park hours changing, which I know can happen, has this not worked for any of you who have tried it? I am going to ask for the check as soon as we order and plan to have us lined up wherever they'll let us stand by 8:45am.

Just did FEA for the first time last week. Don't need to do it again. It wasn't as good as Snow White's Scary Adventure.

It worked for us, just keep your eye on the time and ask for the check with your meal. We saw the wall of people coming just as we exited the restaurant, just a little sooner than we would have expected.

Do you remember when you left? Do you think 8:45 is early enough? I know times can vary quite a bit for when CMs release the crowds. Maybe we'll aim for 8:35. We eat fast and don't need to see the princesses.

I think it was about 8:50, and we thought that we were 'early' because I didn't know they might release the crowd before 9:00, haha. So it worked out perfectly, but like I said, we saw that wall coming!! ;) I think 8:45 should be fine for you. Good luck!

Your plan works (as long as 9am remains Park open).

We've done this successfully too.

Servers in Akershus go through this same drill on a daily basis.

The touring strategy works...but the ride is jut OK. The added time benefit is going from FEA to the Meet-n-Greet. This is an excellent one-and-done strategy that is not a waste of time.

We have done an early Akershus breakfast at 8am the last 2 trips and we have gotten on FEA by 9am and walked right on the ride both times. We booked it because we love breakfast there, and we just planned to go right on the ride after so we didn't need to FP it and it ended up working out great. We didn't rush and we were done our meal right at 9am. After the ride, we hopped right in line for the meet and greet and only had a 5 minute wait for that.

We recently booked our trip and missed the 180+ window. I did get a 9:15am breakfast ADR for Akershus on an as of now 9am open. My question is do you think we can enter early through the breakfast reservation area for a 9:15 res? I read a blogger say someone went to FEA right before their 9:15am res because they were in the park before rope drop. I don't want to lose my ADR, but also hate to miss a chance for FEA without the long wait.

It didn’t work for us. We had an early reservation, but it took a long time for us to get seated. Then they let the RD crowd in about 15 minutes early. We ended up behind the RD crowd.

ETA...I can’t remeber the exact time of the reservation, but it was one of the earlier ones and we checked in at 8.

Have you considered doing the Frozen Ever After Sparkling Dessert Party instead? It includes a reserved area for Illuminations viewing, a dessert buffet, and then everyone is escorted to Frozen Ever After for a ride after Illuminations. It would be more expensive than breakfast, but might be more enjoyable.

We are doing this on our upcoming trip.

I wasn’t a fan of Akershus, even if the FEA ride had worked out better!

We did that on our last trip. We got to Epcot early and walk quickly so we were 3rd in line to be seated. We asked for our check by 8:30, saw all the princesses, DD did the little parade thing, and we were getting out of our seats by 8:45. We walked onto FEA and when we left the line was stretched back to leaving Norway. The cast member there told me that it was a 25 minute wait from that point.
