Akershus breakfast...but World Showcase isn't open yet...

How does a breakfast reservation work here? Time slots for breakfast are available around 8:00am, but the World Showcase section of the park doesn't open for a few hours. Are we escorted into that section? And what happens when we're done- do we just walk back out through a close WS, and into Future World? Thanks!

Great place for breakfast and great character interaction. Yes, World Showcase is closed, but you can still walk through without an escort. We had a reservation at 8am. After we finished, we walked back to rope drop and waited for the mad dash to Soarin'. 8am ressies are great ways to get in early, eat and secure yourself a great place for rope drop.

At the park entrance, you will line up with others that have an early ADR at the entrance marked 'Character Breakfast'. A CM will check your name off a list of those with dining reservations and you will be allowed to walk into the park up to Akershus. You are free to stop along the way for pictures, but none of the store/rides will be open inside the park.

When your breakfast is over, you can walk down the to entrance to Future World where they will have some ropes up. You'll have to wait at rope drop like everyone else for the park to open before you can get into the rides. It is nice to take pictures while there are minimal crowds.

I could not agree more with this. Our first day tradition is to have breakfast at Akershus before the park opens. You will get very good pictures of the park without many people being in them, so have your camera ready. When you go, there will be a designated turnstyle just for the breakfast. Just give the CM with the clip board your name (which it will be on as long as you have a Confirmation #), and they will let you in. From there start heading towards WS, once you hit WS, there will be ropes guiding you to the Norway pavilion, once you are there, there will be a CM at the end making sure you don't go past that point. Have a great time....it is one of our favorite character meals
