Akershus Breakfast - Any Experience with Food Allergies?

The menu (below) at Akershus looks limited. Anyone ever get egg-free waffles/pancakes or cereal here?

DS has egg allergy so eggs and breads are not OK. He is not much for breakfast meat either. Usually for breakfast at Disney, the Chef has egg-free waffles or pancakes or there is cereal to choose from.

I think I've read that they serve Van's waffles at Akershus.

Last time we were there (Oct 2009) with my daughter, who is allergic to eggs, dairy, soy, peanuts and tree nuts, they did not have any waffles or pancakes as a choice. She had hash browns, bacon and fruit as her only choices. My husband and I were disappointed, but she didn't seem to mind. Hope that helps!

We just ate there, so I can report there were no waffles or pancakes - just the things listed above.

There was a cold, self-serve buffet which included strawberry yogurt with several toppings you could add (golden raisons, pecans, oat flakes), cream cheese in several flavors, bagels, sweet rolls, croissants, danish rolls, small apple turnovers, some different breads, crackers, several types of herring, some smoked fish with pepper, smoked salmon, several types of cheese, fresh strawberries, blackberries, cut up fruit salad (it had pineapple, which I am allergic to, so I did not look at it very carefully).

The hot food was brought to the table on a big platter for everyone to serve themselves from. The platter included scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, and a breakfast potato dish that included cheese.

Akershus can provide Van's Waffles. They may even have them available for the asking. But your best bet is to call the Special Diets hotline and let them know your coming. This allows them to order anything you may need.

Additionally, the have fruit and a fantastic potato casserole-like dish that should also be egg-free.
