Also, some people may just have wanted to attend on AK's Anniversary to see if anything "special" happened. The park has been open 18 years today.

The times aren't significantly different here, but just for consistency with the day-of-the-week variable, here's the observed wait time for 2:00pm ET last Friday, according to TouringPlans:
Dino - 20
Kali - 35
Everest - 35

It's probably a combination of the ROL expectation and, as the PP mentioned, the park's anniversary date.

ETA: I really hope we don't see today's SB times repeated when we visit AK on Sunday...

It's crazy that NY spring breaks are so late. Here in Buffalo,NY Spring Break for the schools was the week BEFORE Easter. Strange that it's so different in the same state.
