I was talking to ms this morning to put in a room request for our upcoming trip. I have gathered from the boards that the room I have reserved could have 3 different views. (parking lot, pool, or Savannah). The lady said I could not request any of these views and that I would have to book that category and it would be more points. Am I wrong?

If I understand correctly what you did, the MS CM was incorrect. As long as you realize that you're just requesting the view, and it's not guaranteed that you'll get that view. For example, if you want to be sure of getting a savannah view, you have to book a savannah view. However, I know that you can request a value to be a savannah view-I just did it. I've stayed in a value studio 3 times, all with no requests, and I've always gotten a pool view. For my next stay, I added a request for a savannah view. As MS agreed, there's no guarantee, but I can always ask!

Just back from AKV in a value studio. My only request was "Close to lobby". I did online check-in and we arrived at about 9PM. We got room 5112, which is the second room on the right on Ostrich trail. We had a nice view of the sunset savanna though we didn't see that many animals there. Once, late at night 2 giraffes were feeding on a tree near our balcony, that was the most exciting animal viewing we had.

But we still loved the room, the location and also the view!

That is a GREAT location. We had 5110 & 5112 as a 2BR lock-off two years ago.
