Tossing around the idea of staying at AK this april, with the Visa special....I've read quite a few reviews/trip reports that included this resort...now I'm after tips and tricks from those of you that have stayed here.

Whats the transportation like from here to the different parks...we will have a truck, could/can drive to parks if it would be quicker...

Pools- kid friendly? Hot Tub- NOT kid friendly?

General condition of the rooms,

Coffee Makers?? Fridge?

Food?? Do they have a "food court" similar to that of All Stars?

Okay- thats it for now, anything else you think of that would help me convince DH..I'd appreciate it!

Brandy,
Ask these questions on the resort board also. :D

Pools- kid friendly? VERY...life jackets available for use, and plenty of room.
Hot Tub- NOT kid friendly? Didn't use it. Didn't see ANYONE using it, really, so I imagine it would be okay.

General condition of the rooms - Ours was just fine. We were upgraded from savannah view to deluxe savannah view. We were on Kudu trail, which I have seen some posters complain about, but we were totally happy. Giraffes laying down everyday right in front of our room.

Coffee Makers?? Fridge? Coffee yes, complimentray fridge, no. We brought a cooler and some 12 packs of soda and the CM did not blink an eye, even showed us where to put them.

Food?? Do they have a "food court" similar to that of All Stars? Personally, I think the AS food court is better.

We're going back and taking my mom -- we LOVE it there!!!

You cannot go wrong booking the AK. We took our kids, ages 7&9, last June. Even with the weather being hot and rainy, we had a wonderful vacation. We stayed in a Savannah room and one of the highlights was seeing a giraffe right outside our balcony as we opened the door to our room for the first time. We thought Boma's was a wonderful place to have breakfast.

The time it takes to catch a bus is really no big deal. Our kids usually use that time to pin trade with other kids while waiting for the bus.

The pool is VERY kid friendly with life jackets, etc.

Coffee makers are in the rooms and I think we enjoyed coffee early in the morning but the kids usually had us up and going faster than we could drink it. :earsgirl: :earsboy: princess:
