AK Parking Lot - What time does it open?

I know this has been discussed before (I read some past threads); however, I was wondering if it has changed lately. Does the AK parking lot still open at 8 a.m.? Anyone been recently? We have ADRs at Donald's at 8 a.m. I know we can make it on time by taking the buses, but just wondering if we could drive and still make it. I'd really like to be at the entrance gate by 10 minutes to 8. Anyone?

I haven't heard any different. The best way to make that 8:00 am at Donald's is to take the bus.

Opening time of the AK parking lot is not reliable. Use the bus to get to your ADR.

If you are staying off site, park at the AK Lodge and take the bus from there. Tell the guard you are eating at the 'Lodge and he will give you a 3 hour pass or might not even bother with that.

Do not wait in front of the tollbooth in a fashion where you cannot change your mind and escape to some other roadway despite other cars crowding around. There is a short circuit to the exit if you do enter.

Thanks for the replies!! We're staying at POFQ and will stick with taking the bus. We have an ADR at BOMA for dinner and I just thought it might be easier to drive - guess not. We'll take the bus to AK, then bus to AKL for Boma, and then a taxi back to POFQ. Thanks again!

The parking lot still opens AT park opening time. (at least as of last week)

Take the bus as you will be late if you drive.

We were at the AK at 7:15 in late August. The lanes at the entrance all had cones in front of them. The CM working said they would not open until 8:00 (the park opened at 7:30 EE). When we complained, he let us through.

What is the deal with that lot? It doesn't make any sense that they don't open before the park does.
