AK parking lot opening time

Several years ago I drove to AK and was able to park as early as 6:30 AM (this was when avatar had just opened and things were pretty nuts at rope drop). Do they hold cars and make them wait until a certain time to enter now? Just trying to decide if I’m better off driving or taking the bus from Pop for an early arrival.
