If you had to choose one, which would you choose and why? Boys ages 7 and 9, and myself will be going. Thank you!!!

Hands down I would choose Epcot! I believe there is a lot more to do for everyone here! DAK is a lot more walking in a far less shaded space. Plus, if you decide to stop for an afternoon nap, you can't go back to DAK in the evening because it closes early.

I think your kids and yourself will both enjoy Epcot a whole lot more.

Depends... would your kids enjoy seeing animals or "visiting" other countries. Both parks have great rides, but the main difference is animals vs. countries.

We would definitely choose EPCOT - rides, unique food, great shows, did I mention the food? ;) Seriously though, my kids have always enjoyed EPCOT more than AK.

Epcot. Lots more to do and see. We spend 2 days there, because there's so much.

Younger than your kids, I would have said AK, for sure. My kids favorite park at ages 4-8 was AK. With kids the ages you have, it's a lot harder to make a decision. If you do AK, it closes earlier and you'll have a free evening and no nighttime fireworks. Epcot gives you more hours and Illuminations.

Our family would always choose Epcot over AK. The big draw for our family at AK is EE. At Epcot, we pretty much love everything.

Although I am probably in The minority, I would say animal kingdom. I think the rides are better, especially for boys that age. I think Expedition Everest and dinosaur are more exciting than say soaring and test track. Both parks are great and you will have fun at whichever you choose, so don't sweat it too much. Have a great trip!

I agree, there just isn't much to do in Epcot if your a child. It would probably all seem pretty boring to them.

I would also choose DAK. DAK has 2 "thrill rides" in Expedition Everest and Dinosaur which I think have a much bigger thrill factor over Soarin and Test Track (maybe night Mission Space). I think the 3 shows offered here are excellent, Festival of the Lion King, Finding Nemo and Flights of Wonder, that are not offered at Epcot. I also think the character meets are better for boys than at Epcot.

My 7 year old grandson, who we have taken twice now, thinks Epcot is the worst park

I would do AK all the way. So many more ride wise. Dinosaur, Everest, Safari, Kali River Rapids, train to Planet watch and Prime evil Whirl, It's tough to be a bug.

Unless your boys like to shop Epcot's World Showcase and eat different types of food and see "street performers" from other countries. I would pick AK. Then you would have time to relax after park closes and do something else in the evening like swim, go to DTD and go T'Rex Café for dinne..etc...

Soarin', Test Track, SOAF, The Seas, phineas and ferb, spaceship earth, all the great attractions/exhibits in Innoventions, live shows/music in World Showcase, Maelstrom, Three Caballeros, Illuminations, all the post-shows at Mission:Space and Spaceship Earth.... yeah, I think they can find something to do!

When I was 7, Epcot was my favorite park. And that was in the 80s when it was ALL edutainment.

Really? Is that all that's in Epcot? Man, the place has changed in the last few months. :rolleyes2

Epcot for sure. We enjoy AK but would never miss Epcot. My 6 year old asked if we could hit that park on our arrival day.

I would pick Epcot, as much as I love AK. I just think there's more to do at Epcot for kids.

If you have a guidebook or youtube you can show your children the two choices and see what they decide also however that could open up a can of worms if both places look appealing! Whichever you choose you will have a great time!

To above YES to our nephews it was :rotfl: I'm quoting my 10 year old nephew. He was like "all we're doing is shopping. where are all the rides?" This is when we were in World Showcase. We did test Track and Soarin..which he loved. He thought the movies in Canada and Mexico were boring. He didn't care for the SOAT. They did think Turtle talk with Crush was ok. They HATED Captain EO. They showed no interest in meeting the Princess's in WS. We did go see Mickey,Minnie etc in the character spot...the longest character wait we've ever had.

My 13 nephew was just like going along. He's a much easier going kid.

They wanted more rides that day. If you ask them both about EPCOT they will say it's a Shopping park. Sorry BUT that is their view.

Definitely AK!! We just returned from WDW and our son celebrated his 10th birthday during the trip. On his birthday, we let him plan the day and he chose to go to AK. Our family loves that park. I'd skip Epcot and the studios before AK.

I would also choose EPCOT for sure. It Is easier to fill a day there. For us, AK can be done in half a day.
