Trying to plan a park for New Year's Day. Originally thought AK with ROL, maybe check out Avatar (not a big to deal to our family at all, but heard it's nice at night). We didn't visit AK last trip and it used to be a nice laid back day for us. Now, with the new rides open it seems to be A LOT more popular.

Is ROL worth seeing? I was disappointed to discover it is a 15 min show. We have Tusker House booked for dinner at 7:00. Do they have characters at dinner? We have only dined for lunch in the past.

Other choice would be DHS on New Year's Day. We love this park, just trying to decide if AK would be a better choice. For those who have recently visited is the entire AK park overly busy due to the new attractions? We would be more interested in the things that have been there for years LOL. I know it will be crowded anyway due to the time of year. Just looking for suggestions or input.

Yes Tusker House characters are at night too.
ROL was neat once but for us not a must see every visit.

Like any new thing at WDW those attractions will draw a crowd, but I think I would still plan on AK for New Year's Day.

**Also something to think about, the way Christmas falls this year, our school starts back on Jan 3rd, so you may have more people leaving on New Year's Day than "normal"

What time is ROL shown typically? I have a 6:55 dinner res at Tusker House. Would it be before this? or after? Should I try to book lunch there instead?
