I've read that Animal Kingdom is best to avoid on Monday afternoons because Monday is usually EMH. But since it is open late on Memorial Day (until 8 pm), how will the crowds be between 4 and 8 pm? The safari would be nice and cooler later, wouldn't it?

Thanks!

That's a great question: Will it be busy due to Memorial day, or will the Memorial weekend crowds already be headed home???

Something to consider....E-night for MK is also that night, so maybe all the crowds will be getting ready for that and will leave AK in peace for the rest of us :D

I'm wondering what will actually be running that late? Don't the animals gon inside at 5:00, no matter what? Will the shows run right through closing? They usually don't at the other parks.

Anybody been at AK on a rare late night?

8pm at AK! Wow!

We have visited AK late in the afternoon when closing time was much earlier (5pm or 6pm). It seemed that many (most?) of the guests that had arrived early in the day had left or were leaving as we arrived. We were able to do the Dinosaur Ride, Safari, and Its Tough to Be a Bug during the last hour (this was before Fastpass).

Also, I got the impression when we visited WDW during the Memorial Day time period that many of the guests left WDW on Memorial Day (Monday). Putting these two experiences together, I wouldn't expect heavy crowds between 4pm and 8pm on Memorial Day.

Anyone with first-hand knowledge?

Would love to also hear from those who have visited during this timeframe. We arrive on Sunday and have never been to the World during the first week of June.

Be advised that during EMH, although AK is open until 8PM this Thursday, the Safari is scheduled to close at 7:15pm. I didn't see the schedule yet for Memorial Day Monday, but it's a safe assumption that the Safari will close at that time, 7:15 as well. If I find out differently I will certainly give you an update.

Also, re: EMH...Thursday evenings also normally have Magical Gatherings Safaris take place, just after the usual 5pm closing. This will still be done, with the main standby cue closing temporarily during the switchout for EHM. In other words, the cue will close to day guests, then the Magical Gatherings guests will be accomodated, and finally the main cue will re-open to EHM guests with wristbands
