I am very excited for our FP+ booking day tomorrow, but am not sure how to book our first AK day, which is on day 60+1 (Thurs. May 10). We have two AK days planned - one on day 60+1, and one on day 60+4. We were planning to try for FOP on both days, so that we can ride more than once without doing the crazy dash at RD. Touring plans is showing that, at best, I will only be able to get late afternoon on day 60+1. We have a 5:10 reservation at Sanaa that I really want to keep, for my animal-loving birthday boy. I can try to make the FOP FP+ that day for the evening (how late?), and go back to AK, or maybe nab the last one before we leave the park, like at 4:00. Fyi, on that AK day, day 60+1, we are planning to RD AK, so it will be a long day if we go back. Though we might go to ROL anyway. Should I get a FOP FP+ - if I can - and then try to adjust it in the future, to make it earlier, or just get a FP+ for something else so that we can get a possible 4th FP? Or so that we will have 3 FP+ to use in the early afternoon when it's likely crowded? Is it worth getting one for Navi River? Either way, we will try for FOP on our second AK day....

If getting a FP for Navi is important then put that for your first AK day. From reviews of the ride it seems a little anticlimactic so with my families upcoming trip we have skipped the Navi FP and will try to hit at park closing. If you are there at rope drop you might have better luck getting Navi with a short wait at rope drop. As most are dashing towards FOP.

As for FOP -- once you get the FP you will likely not find available FP later on closer to your trip. Can't hurt to look but i wouldn't hold my breath. My suggestion would be to get a later afternoon FP say 3:00 - ride, enjoy the area and then take a leisurely trip to AKL for your dinner reservation -- it is one resort where you can sit and relax and watch the animals if you are there well before your reservation time. Relax a bit after your dinner there as well so that you can head back to the park closer to the ROL time. You will likely want to return to the park for the evening even if it is just to see pandora at night and catch ROL. Just possibly plan for your next day to be a later start so you can sleep in a little.

Using up your 3 FP earlier might be wise as you could possible get a ROL FP for the evening (I'm not so sure how quickly they go). As soon as you scan in for your 3rd ride go on the app while you are in line.

When your FP window opens up, get on exactly at 7am EST and prioritize making your FP for your first AK day. The first FoP may end up being early afternoon. My AK Day was 60+2. I was able to book FoP at 1:10, and then got Safari at 2:10 and Everest at 3:10. We plan to squeeze in a show (Lion King over Nemo). We have a Sanaa ADR at 5:40. We will not be RDing AK as we will be at Hollywood Studios in the morning.

In your case, if you’re going to be at AK all day, book the earliest FoP that you can get in hopes the time window ends about an hour before your Sanaa ADR and work the other two FP before the FoP FP. If you RD AK, I’ve heard Na’vi is practically a walk on since everyone goes to FoP. I’m hoping you’ll be able to find yours for early afternoon if you get on exactly at the start of your FP window. I agree with the previous poster who mentioned you likely won’t be able to modify it after you book it because it’s so popular and runs out fast.

I would get the FOP FP+ and try getting it earlier. Even if it doesn’t work, it’s better to reserve just in case and cancel later- you shouldn’t have trouble getting it for any non-Pandora ride until maybe a few days before your trip. Also keep in mind they could extend park hours to an 8 AM opening (they have done that for a lot of days recently) and if they do that, FP+ for that time should become available.

We were offsite so could't get FoP at 30 days out. We were however able to get a same day FP for FoP when we were at AK a couple weeks ago. Just kept refreshing in the app to swap it out for Navi (lame) and we eventually got it for early afternoon. We were then able to get Navi FP again after scanning in to FoP. Probably just luck, but that's what worked for us. I did break my party up so I was only looking for FoP for 2. FoP was great, Navi was really disappointing I thought.

I would do the rest of the park in the morning and avoid the mad rush to Pandora. We started with Dino and went around that direction. The 3 Dino rides and EE were pretty much walk-ons in the morning. We had a FP for EE, but didn't really need it. Single rider would have been faster. We then did our Safari FP late morning and over to Pandora in the afternoon.
