AK Flights of Wonder worth it?

We loved it! It was funny, and it was incredible how close the birds would fly to you but miss you. DD and I were sure the owl was going to thump us in our humongous noggins, but somehow he avoided impact. :teeth: They also have an eagle which they show, and it's very inspiring. It will be on our "must do" for our next visit. :thumbsup2

I avoided this show for a long time because I figured "it's just another bird show". But on one trip I was passing by the theatre just as it was starting and went in. Glad I did. We are huge animal lovers and this show is fantastic. It shows the bird's natural abilities. It's not a parrot on a bicycle kind of thing. And the bald eagle makes me cry every time.

After the show, kids of all ages are invited to come up towards the stage and see the birds up close and personal. This is one of my granddaughter's favorite things to do. Oh, and the husband has to see this every trip to Animal Kingdom.

Totally agree! This was a not to be missed thing for me and I don't even like birds! But it was so cool and amazing the things the birds could do.

We really enjoy the show and make a point of doing it every trip. The birds are great and the humans are pretty amusing too. Definitely worth doing.

I skipped the show for years, thinking it was just another bird show. We finally saw it last year.... and I now rank it Not To Be Missed! :thumbsup2

I am not at all a bird fan, in fact they kind of creep me out for some reason, but man, I loved this show. The birds were amazing and they do get decidedly close to your head! I have to say, I may even like birds a bit more after the show. It's a must do for me :yay:

We first saw the bird show a year after Animal Kingdom opened, and this year saw it again ... it's still the exact same show, but well worth seeing.

If you like bird shows, you'll love it! Very entertaining...a little fun, a little educational, an eensy-weensy bit preachy (but in a loving way). But the birds are the focus!

I really like it.

If bird shows aren't your thing, you can go ahead and skip it...nothing to see here. :)

A minor correction - having seen this show since the very beginning many many times. This show has changed considerably since the beginning, it's very different than the show that opened with the park.

But don't miss it.

Sit in the center section of seats, fourth or fifth row, right on the aisle. Don't duck when the owl comes out - he'll fly over your head at about four or five inches. Then you can turn around and watch him fly right by you on his way back to the stage.

Glad to see I'm not the only one! Actually I'm pretty teary throughout the whole show! This show is one of those hidden gems that a lot of people pass over (at least that's how it seems). I love it though, and never miss it!!

Yes, this rather under-advertised show is great. We almost missed it!!! We just happened to sit in great seats (all seats are good for viewing) -- at one point a hawk flew from the stage to the CM three feet away from us. Beautiful! :thumbsup2

I agree - it is definately worth seeing. It is the first time I've been so close to these birds that fly right over your heads. We'll be going again in October.

I liked the old show better, this one is a little to silly for me (not the birds, the humans:rolleyes: ). I'll still go see it if I have the time though:thumbsup2 .

Princess Fontaine and I have never seen the show but Fontaine's mom and step dad loved it!! We're gonna check it out this time in November.
