We are going to Disney World in Jan. We will not make it a full day at the AK. We have DS4 and DD2 who are both scared easily by loud noises, etc. If we can only see one show (Finding Nemo-the musical or The Festival of The Lion King), which one would you recommend for us? TIA!

I love LK. It has lots of music and dancing. My kids were never scared by it. We saw Nemo last week and my girls liked it too. It is about 30 minutes and shows the story of Finding Nemo, abbreviated of course. If you are sitting right by the walkway on the stage, Bruce does come dipping down by you and it may scare your kids. My 6yo jumped when he came by. Really, I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I thought Nemo was lame. I LOVE Lion King!! Anyway, we can always do a half day at AK and pretty much do it all...especially if you are skipping Tough to Be a Bug and Dinosaur, etc. Why not do both? I certainly think you can.

That's a hard one. Both are excellent shows. But I would have to go with Nemo first.

Lion King is a better show, but also more likely to scare a child who doesn't like loud noises. Last time I attended the show this poor little girl was so terrified, just wailing and crying. The whole show. All I kept thinking to myself was 'please take that poor girl out and stop her suffering', but the parents didn't. That said, the show doesn't scare most kids......but it's louder and the "Be Prepared" number is a bit ominous at times.

You can't go wrong with either but if I could only see one it would be Nemo.

Lion King!!!!! We did both and the lion king show was way better. We didn't like the nemo musical at all. 3 year old got bored. Dh just said it was ok. I will never go back. Just wasn't memorable or good enough. Lion king show isn't scary. It has acrobats, dancers, a fire juggler, a parade part.....Don't miss it. Its great. Definetely my favorite thing at AK.

My 5 year old was 4 when we went to AK and he too is frightened by loud noises and dark places. He was very scared at the beginning and it took a lot of convincing to get him to stay. That said, once it got going he loved it and it was one of our favorite things from our trip!

Lion King. The Nemo show was so long. My 6 yo refused to go on the Nemo ride in Epcot because he thought we were doing the Nemo show again. It wasn't bad, but it is long and not as good as Lion King in my opinion.

The Nemo show does have some parts that can be scary for little ones but it is good. They are both good shows to see. I would pick one where the kids liked the movie more and would have a better idea of what was happening.

We've just come back from WDW on the 10th and although I like Nemo I love the Lion King show especially if you are traveling with young kids. The singing and interaction with the characters is alot of fun...we can't get enough of the monkeys!!

If you are group of adults only then I'd say Nemo because it's a sitdown theater type of show with things happening around you, but it's more of an adult concept then kids.

Depends on your kids too.

When we saw Nemo, earlier this month, there were a lot of small children who were crying. They seemed to cry most at the end of a scene: something major would happen (e.g., Nemo would get lost), then the theater would get dark. It's a good show, but I know it would have been too intense for my child when he was 4yo. So I'd vote for the Lion King!
