I am wondering if the plan I have below will work....if Festival of the Lion King has a show that starts at 12:00pm and we can make it, then I want to use the fastpass on that show instead of a later one at 1:00. Do you think my times will be cutting it too close? Does Tusker House often have long waits to be seated? How long does the safari last?

• Bus to Animal Kingdom Rope Drop 8:00am
-Dinosaur
-Primeval Whirl
-Fast Pass Expedition Everest 8:30-9:30am
• Breakfast at Tusker House 9:50am (6 ppl)
-Fast Pass Kilimanjaro Safari 11:00am-12:00pm
-Fast Pass Festival of the Lion King 12:00pm show
-Shows/ Trails

Is 8am the normal park open or Extra Magic hour (EMH). If EMH, I don't believe you'll be able to get a FP+ until 9-10 as.they don't have FPs during EMH. Usually EE doesn't pick up a crowd til a little later so you maybe not need to use your FP then anyway. I've heard it can take 15 mins or so to be seated at TH. It is a buffet so should go quickly as long as the characters come around in a timely manner. One Tip I've read here is to ask for your check as soon as you sit down. That way you can leave as soon as you're done eating. I've also read here to allow 45 - 75 mins to eat. I believe Safari is 15-20 mins. Good news is Lion King is right by the safari now. Fyi....if you end up missing the 12 show, the Pagani trail is close by and you can "kill some time" there waiting for the 1:00 lion king.

Thanks for those estimates! I did the Max waiting time and max eating time and we would be getting done with the safari at like 11:50am....so it will be cutting it close but I think I will keep it if we can easily change the lion king FP to 1:00pm if we need to. During high crowds (Xmas week), do you think it's easy to adjust fastpass times last minute?

I'm honestly not sure about changing times. I've been following the boards for a a little over a year, but I don't believe I've read one way or the other on Lion King. I will say, I believe it is a low priority FP (the old theater was large....Assuming the new one is too). AK seems to handle crowds well. I was there last year on Thanksgiving (most recommended park) and found it totally doable. I had a FP for Lion King, but got there just 5 mins before the show started and they were just ushering folks in and not having us scan FP. We still got seats....not the best, but they weren't bad....could still see everything.

We were last there thanksgiving week 2013, not thanksgiving day but earlier in the week. We ate lunch at Tusker House. Although we enjoyed the food, we waited for almost an hour to be seated...I have never waited that long anywhere on Disney property to be seated. We were disappointed but thankful that we didn't miss any FP+ reservations.

We used FP+ on the Lion King and it was a great experience! It was the old arena but our seats were right down front. We arrived just minutes before the show started. My husband was chosen to lead our section in the elephant call and our kids were able to participate at the end of the show...it was awesome.
