AK evenings in September

For those who have gone recently to AK at night, how are the crowds? I've heard on podcasts that the crowds are light at night, which may be why the AK closing times for September are still scheduled for 7:30-8:00 PM.

I'm really bummed - I planned my trip to stay at the AKL and experience AK at night with ROL, EE after dark, and all the new nightly entertainment. If AK closes at 7:30 PM, I can still get on the safari at dusk, but it won't be dark yet for EE. With the Jungle Book show scheduled to end Sept. 5th, I wonder if there will be no show, or will ROL start debuting?

I'm 40 days out, and it's frustrating for WDW to make us plan so far in advance for ADRs and FP+ reservations, only to have this huge unknown!

Expect them to extend the hours.
Just keep checking and re-checking.

Disney has been very, very late with posting the correct hours and events over the last several months.

Right there with you! We go Sept 3-12th. Our AK day is the 4th. Has a late opening, which is nice but JB show will still be running and we have little to no interest in that. If ROL opens the 6th or some other day while we are still there, do we go over to AK and face the mob-scene that will be the 1st few showings of ROL or just skip it?
I'm just trying to be chill about it and not count on ROL at all. The evening hours on the 4th will be new and fun enough for me
