AK & Epcot for Lovers?

DH & I are going to have a couple days alone before our kids & grandkids join us. We'll be staying at AKL, so our first day we'll be at AK for a few hours before we rest up & dress for dinner.
The next day, we'll be at Epcot. I have a Behind the Seeds tour scheduled for us.
We have a couple nice dinners planned.

What things do you enjoy as an adult couple with no kids at those 2 Parks? Is there anything you & your Mate find particularly romantic?

romantic = no

Fun = everything...my wife and I went for the first 6 years of our marrige before kids, 2x a year. Just to have fun and act like kids is all the romance we needed.

I think the World Showcase in the evening is drop dead romantic! Strolling around the lagoon enjoying the lights and the music, stopping for a glass of wine or espresso with a decadent pastry and finding a little table tucked back of the "city street" ... girl you'll find yourself on the verge of getting your hand slapped for a PDA!!!!

One year, my husband and I went around World Showcase looking for the nicest backdrop in each country and then took a photograph of ourselves at each site. A close-up portrait-type picture (we held the camera at arms length, pointed it at ourselves and snapped the picture-- used a digital camera so we could see the photo and take another if necessary). We have a nice collage of oictures from that trip.

We do love the World Showcase. That is one place where we always wind up strolling hand in hand, even when we had kids with us. DH isn't usually the hand-holding kind of guy after all these years, but WS brings it out in him.

I am hoping to find some of that Magic in AK too - maybe doing some of the slower paced, little things..... Usually we have DS with us rushing from attraction to attraction.

Leota, don't forget to see if you can find Devine at AK. So far we haven't been there when she's there. Also, have you checked out the jungle treks. That's one of the other things we've not done there, although, I would imagine, it's not quite as romantic as Epcot. I also just think WS is just plain romantic, although I can't think of anything specific we've done.

Yesterday I changed a dining reservation for our upcoming trip and I'm SO excited about it that I just seem to chatter on and on to whomever I come in contact with!!! Anyway, I told her how 2 years ago, when my "baby" went to college it was our "first" Disney trip with just the two of us. I was SO worried that we'd be the only "old" couple there!!! We were so surprised when a majority of "Disneyers" were "old" hand holding couples just like US!!!

Did you make your reservation for the Blue Zoo??? That should be romantic. Thanks to you it's a definite on our April trip when it's just DH and myself. Personally, I think a lovely gondola ride from the resort, under the gateway to WS would be perfect after a romantic meal.

We also started to go to WDW alone once the kidlets were in college. Our first trip we thought it couldn't possibly be as much fun. Boy were we wrong!!!! It was fun and romantic and we love AKL, sitting by the fire or walking around. We love walking the trails of AK just taking our time and stopping and talking and laughing. There's lots of places to stop and chat with no one else around. WE find we go t oEpcot more without the kids and eat at World showcase or just wander around the more back areas like in back of England where British Invasion plays. We get a drink and sit and watch them without the kids making comments!!! Not that we aren't looking forward to the time when we have grandkids to take, but disney is definately for couples looking for romance too.

El Rio de Tempo was really nice for DH and I - a bit cheesy, but nice none the less. We too loved everything about WS at night, and being able to 'stroll' instead of running around!

I agree with the above poster who said that World Showcase at night with some pastry is wonderfully romantic.. I also find the same thing for a stroll around Downtown Disney at night. It's fun...

Thanks! I have always loved watching couples in WDW & have been bugging DH that we should do that. We are tagging this on to a family trip & I'm hoping he'll want to do it more often.

If you can, make a reservation for Jiko while you're at AKL. It's by far our favorite restaurant on property -- fantastic food, unusual wine list and a romantic atmosphere.

Agreed!

Romantic dinners can be had at Jiko, Flying Fish and California Grill (get a late post-Wishes seating!).

An evening stroll in the World Showcase topped by Illuminations is a great activity for the two of you!

World Showcase at night is one of the most romantic places ever... My DW
and I will just walk around the world holding hands, listening to the music in
each country, and marvelling at how beautiful everything looks lit up
just right...
A little smackerel in France or Norway, and a latte for each of us! Sweet!
A walk around the World is one of the most favorite things for my DW and
I to do. We have been doing the "walk" since 1986 or so...

In AK, take a walk on the Discovery Island trails (hardly anyone does). There are benches back there where you can sit and listen to the music, but you feel like you're a million miles from the world. It's so lovely there!
