AK early rope drop/park open on certain days

When we visited in July we arrived at AK an hour early and they did rope drop maybe 15 minutes early? It was great and we rode FOP in the first flight of the day. But while waiting at the tapstiles I overheard a CM say that certain days of the week they open a full hour before posted open time. I forget which days she said.
- Anyone know if there is truth to this?
- If so, which days of the week?
- To beat the FOP crowd does this mean I'd have to arrive waaay earlier than posted open time, or if I arrive an hour early is that still sufficient to walk right in and beat the crowds cause not many know about this?

Or maybe she was just a nutty CM and Im asking stupid questions?

I would guess they were talking about EMH when a park opens to onsite guests an hour early. For AK, that is usually Saturday. So instead of opening at 9, it opens at 8 for onsite guests. So you would need to arrive about 7:15-7:30 at the latest.

I wondered if she was referencing EMH too

I'd get there an hour before park opening no matter what. My dad arrived an hr before park opening on a non emh day and he was led into the queue before the official opening time. He still has to wait but not out in the hot sun at least. If you can get there 1 hr before emh that's even better.

Here's something interesting.....it happened 2 years in a row for us, so it might be a trend or a normal thing. We just got back from Thursday-Tuesday. These things happened both years:

Saturday EMH- tap styles opened around 7:30am, walked to bridge on Discovery island, held there for 5ish minutes, and then walked to Pandora bridge, held there for about 5-10 minutes, walked to ride around 7:50am or so.....I was done around 8:15am

Monday EMH- tap styles opened at 7:30am, we were walked all the way onto the ride with no stops....I was off the ride right around 8am...

Maybe they have different procedures for different days? Both times I arrived between 7:10am-7:20am
