Ak CS meal recommendations?

The only places I've eaten at AK are Rainforest Cafe, which we liked, and the Yak & Yeti (which I refer to as the Yuck & Yeti), which we did not like.

We have free dining for the next trip & we aren't particularly picky eaters, although I prefer healthier options most of the time. Does anyone have any recommendations? I know one of the CS places has ribs, which DH will like. How are they? Thanks!

Our favorite is Flame Tree Barbecue. That's the place with the ribs and they are great! Here's the menu... http://allears.net/menu/menu_ftb.htm We eat there on every trip.

We also like the Yak & Yeti quick serve, although I did not enjoy the full-serve experience we had there. Here's their menu... http://allears.net/menu/menu-anad.htm

Another option is Pizzafari. Personally, I don't particularly care for WDW's personal pizzas but it's a very popular place so, clearly, others do not share my opinion. Even if you don't eat there it's worth a stop in as the restaurant is themed beautifully. Here's their menu... http://allears.net/menu/menu_piz.htm

Have a great trip!

Thank you! Flame Tree it is. I shouldn't be reading about food when I'm about to make dinner. Now I want ribs.;) Where is Flame Tree located?

You know, I avoided Flame Tree because I don't like eating outside but I now stand corrected. Dined there earlier this year for the first time and those ribs were AMAZING. My colleague (we were there for a work conference) loved the pulled pork. The outside seating was shaded and breezy and very comfortable.

I'm not as familiar with AK as other parks but I think it's fairly close to the front of the park, on your way to Nemo and Expedition Everest. It's not as far back as Tusker House and Yak and Yeti.

Oooh, Flame Tree, the BBQ Chicken Salad is wonderful and healthy, but I always seem to screw that up by adding an order of onion rings :worship:

The pulled pork sandwich was delicious! We also love the music they play and the surroundings in general. Altogether, a very pleasant meal, except for the woman who dove for the table DH was headed for and snagged it first. :rotfl:

I'm hungry now...

Flame Tree is our families favorite CS at AK. BUT we tried Pizzafari for the first time this past June...I must admit the pizza was typical, but I had the Hot Italian Sandwich and it was FABULOUS! :goodvibes

I agree about WDW pizza, however, Pizzafari has a delicious hot Italian sandwich. I never miss it!!!

Flame Tree BBQ is the ONLY CS that we find to be a must do. The pulled pork and ribs are delicious! Yum!

Normally, I hate juggling for a table but there is plenty of seating if you keep moving downhill.

Obviously Flame Tree is #1. But what's the next best?

We love Flame Tree BBQ. A second choice would be the new Picnic in the Park meal. I found this on wdwinfo.com--there's even a veggie option.

We may try this on our upcoming trip. Hope this helps.

Here's another vote for Flame Tree Barbeque. Those wood smoked ribs are the best! It's in the Discovery Island section of AK.

Flame tree BBQ is wonderful!!!!! My family loves it:love: and it is a must for our AK days. We also went to YandY last year and thought it was horrible. It was by far our worst meal in Disney. I hope you have a wonderful trip.
