They are no longer doing procedures on Wednesdays. So don't go there expecting to see one. Honestly I was disappointed in the lack of things to do there. I went there wanting to really learn , but left quickly.

I'm a bit surprised. I guess you went there on a Wednesday, didn't see a procedure and were disappointed. We go usually in the afternoon when there typically isn't a procedure but still have a good time and learn things. We enjoy the exhibits quite a bit and stop to read all the placards about what we are seeing. We also take our time on the trail from the train station to the building and have often talked about how to turn our backyard (which has a ton of trees but nothing else growing) into a water splash place or something since that's one of the exhibits on that trail.

And we spend quite a bit of time in the petting area where my husband promises the goats that if we ever win the lottery, we are buying an place with lots of land and the goats' brothers and sisters will be welcome. While he's doing that, I'm over petting the pigs.

Lugnut, I was at Conservation Station yesterday, too, and got the same answer. No more vet procedures on Wednesdays. We went out there right after the park opened yesterday, and I was disappointed! I had a nice discussion with the CM at the animal nutrition station, but then ran out of things to do. I wasn't able to go back early today due to a mid-morning ADR, so I missed out on the vet procedures this trip. Bummer.

One other fun thing to do, though, is to catch the presentations at the small "animal encounter" stage next to Affection Section. I caught part of the show, where they brought out a spectacled owl and talked about her. That can be quite fun and very informative! They do these presentations three or four times a day. In the past, I've seen several birds, a hedgehog, a porcupine, and other mall animals.

I was there for the scorpion and tarantula presentation and that was great. Watched them feed the bugs also. That said there is just so much more that could be done.

What else is there? Even my teenagers would like to see a tarantula and a scorpion.
My kids are too old for a petting farm.

You can meet Rafiki, feel some dung, listen to a short recording of the Jungle, look at some reptiles, petting zoo, and see some exhibits.

They are kids but my husband and I are in our 50s and that's one of the main reasons we go to this attraction. Husband pets the goats and tells them when we win the lottery we will have all their kinfolk living with us. I go over to the pigs and pet them. How many times do you get to pet a pig in your lifetime?
