AK Bus to Boma?

I want to make a reservation for Boma one night during our trip. Extra magic hours isn't going to fall on Animal Kingdom day so it's going to be a 9AM-5PM AK day. What is the best way to get to Boma in AKL after the park closes? We want to go from POP to Animal Kingdom and then take a bus from AK to the Animal Kingdom Lodge but I wasn't sure if the busses to AK run after 5PM since the park closes at that time. Does anyone know how long the busses run to AK after the park closes at 5?

I think generally the buses run up to an hour after park closing for all parks.

If you're worried about buses not still running though then the safest option is to go via bus to DTD instead rather than AK.

Don't go to DTD to switch buses unless all the other parks are closed with no transportation still running - unless that is the closest option to your resort, or you want to visit there. Pop Century might be closer to both Epcot and Studios. It's quite close to Studios. I'd go there to switch before I went all the way out to DTD. (I also believe it is the Studios bus from AKL that stops at Blizzard Beach if it's open - you could also switch buses there)

Thank you both for your input. I never thought of taking a different bus..just thought of AK because it was closest to AKL.

I agree and would go to Blizzard Beach or Hollywood Studios to switch busses if Animal Kingdom is already closed. If you are at a park right before dinner it is a bit easier to get there....that is what we did. Every afternoon after our siesta we went to a park for a couple of hours and hit our dinner ADR bus from there.

AK is best for switching buses from AKL, if AK is open and the bus is still running there. If AK closed an hour prior to your bus ride, you need to go somewhere else to change buses.

FWIW, sometimes when we leave a resort restaurant, we'll just opt for a taxi when the bus is going to be a hassle. Having our tired crew pile into a taxi-van to be driven directly "home" and dropped off close to the room is sometimes so worth the $$.

We did this: when you leave AK for the day simply board the bus for AKL, its a 5 min ride.

When you are ready to leave AKL take a bus to either another park or DTD then get a bus to Pop. We had a 6pm ressie at Boma and were able to make it to Epcot for Illuminations after dinner.
