AK animal topper cups - refillable?

Is this the right thread for this? We drink a lot of cold lemonade at AK. Those large cups with the animals on top - I understand that they cost right much but can be refilled. Is this right? Which stands refill them? Thanks much.

Yep. They can be refilled but only at Animal Kingdom and only on the day that you purchase them. I think they are about $8 or so but after only having to pay $1 to refill, they quickly pay for themselves. We normally get one when we visit Animal Kingdom. They also offer these types of refillable cups at the water parks as well. I wish they would offer them at the other "theme" parks.

Different areas of the park offer different toppers..like by the Dinosaur ride you get a dinosaur, another part has white tigers I think or something like that etc..

WRONG! I bought one two years ago and I refill it for a dollar everytime I go back to Animal Kingdom. I was just there the first week in February and took my cup with me and I got it filled for a dollar everytime I went to one of the booths that sold them. Same goes for the Cheesecake Factory in Disney Quest. Drinks for a dollar at Disneyworld.

At Universal, you can't bring the refill fun mugs at any visits and reuse them cause you have to show the receipt of course that has a date when it was purchased. We have bought Spongebob and the Rugrats. They're great for souviniers!

Anyways... Thanks for letting us know. We will be buying a refill mugs at AK, it will be refilled many times I'm sure. Does anyone know if there's a Lion King top or maybe a Tarzan top? I would love to have both of them for my kids.

Sorry, but the cup comes with a sticker on it that is color coded to the day that it was purchased and it states very clearly that it is only valid for the day that it was purchased. Now that doesn't mean that the CM behind the counter isn't looking and just refills as the cups themselves don't change but it is very clearly printed on the sticker that it is only valid for the day of purchase. I might actually have the cup with the sticker on it around here somewhere and will see if I can post a picture of it.

In the water parks you refill the cups yourself and they actually have a bar code on them that you need to have scanned to get the drink machine to operate.

When we went in July, we bought the animal topper cup and it also had a sticker. Just like the previous poster said, it was only good for that day. Wish I had know about that earlier in the day since we bought ours at about 3pm and left at 4pm.

We also bought a cup at Blizzard Beach and it was a life-saver.

FYI - not WDW related, but they also have the refillable cups at Seaworld.

I don't know about any sticker, but I have been back three times since in two years and used the same cups and no one has questioned me about it. They even tell me to take the top off to refill it. It may depend on who or where you go to around the park, but I refilled it just about everywhere in AK that sells those. Go figure...

I bought one of those and when I tried to use it on my next trip a few months later they would not let me. It is now just a nice little souviner cup that I use at home.

slightly OT, but did you know those cups have 7 hidden Mickey's on them??

Yep. I have found them but you have to look very carefully to find them. I had a CM point out one to me when we acquired the cup.
