Last night I went in to get seat assignements for us. Hubby was worried because he said he heard they are way overbooking everything. Ok, fine. Not a problem.

My problem came when I saw that what used to be a direct flight now isn't! We were flying out of Chicago to Orlando...and it came up Chicago to Charlotte to Orlando...getting in 4 hours later than the flight I *thought* I was booking! I checked on the Disney site, and that flight is still shown as a direct flight. My tickets show it's a direct flight. I ended up paying more for a direct flight and now it's been changed! URG! Granted our trip isn't until November...and maybe they'll change it back. But, I'm irked!

A change like that, they have to notify you & you have the option to accept or deny. If you deny, they must refund your money (I'm pretty sure).

I would contact them & ask WTH?

Are you sure the flight numbers are the same & not just the flight times?

It is not uncommon for Airtran to change flights.

Here is what you do. Go to airtran.com and check flights from Chicago to MCO for the date you are flying. It will tell you if a non-stop is still available. Then, call Airtran telling them you noticed the change and you want to be put back on the non-stop flight (if still available). If there are no non-stops then have the best possible flight you can change to in mind or a ask for a refund. They will work with you.

My guess is that the flight changed and the computer put you on the closed flight time wise to the original flight. If you booked through Disney, you "may" need to go through them as they are the travel agent in this case. I would call Airtran directly to see what can be done first.

Let us know what happens.

We are on the same flight in October. It shows as a direct flight as you are not changing planes. You land and a few get off, a few get on and you leave again. It isnt really nonstop but called direct, it doesnt take too long as I had it on a couple of other flights.

You need to sign up for an A+ account, they then email you everytime there is the slightest change. If you dont accept the changes you contact them and all the info is in the email.

Our nonstop leaving at 3pm from MCO to MDW was canceled so I took the direct charlette flight at 4:30 to avoid leaving at 8am on another non stop. I hate to fly, I hate landing and taking off, but I reallly , really hate being at an airport so early!

Ok, I see what I did. This is the first time I booked through Disney, actually the first time I've booked a flight online instead of through travel agent. When I saw the flight showing just MDW and MCO, I didn't take into consideration the times...mainly because I know there's an hour time difference. The other flights on Disney showed stops and changes, and I didn't want to do that. I guess it's no big deal, it was my mistake thinking it was a non-stop by not REALLY looking at it. I should have checked the airline website also before I booked. As long as I get there in time to enjoy all of MVMCP the night we get there, I'm good!

Thanks for clearning this up for me! Now I'll be able to spend the day not mad at the airlines! Plus, I can now say I've *been* in Charlotte...even if it's only for a few minutes! LOL

I love to say this! I have been to Atlanta, Boston, Washington DC, St. Louis, Denver, and Houston... albeit just in their airports! But, I can say I have been to those cities and states! :rotfl2:
