Airtran questions

We just booked our flight out of Pittsburgh on Airtran airways ($707/w taxes for 4 in October) and I have a few questions. (We have never flown with them before)

1. We weren't able to select seat assignments- we have to do it when we check in (doing it online 24 hours before flight). Do you think that we will have trouble getting seats together (there are 4 of us)?

2. DS will be in a car seat- are there specific seats that we should sit in?

3. We are staying at CBR- has anyone had experience with the front sesk helping you checkin and print boarding passes online?

4. I heard that security in Pit is sometimes long- anyone know what times are bad? Our flight leaves around 8:15 am right now. (I know this will probably change- I've been following the other thread!)

Thanks everyone for your help!

Lynn

We are staying the night before our flight at Comfort Suites- any opinions?

1. If you're on a 717, the seats are 2-3. On a 737, the seats are 3-3. If you're on a 717, the best bet would be to get 2 rows on the 2 seat side. If you're on a 737, you could try to get three seats on one side and then the aisle seat on the opposite side. I would think if you select seats right at the 24 hour mark, you'll be able to get one of these scenarios.

2. Car seats need to be in a window seat.

we are also flying airtran for the first time out of pit apr 23. my experience with the security lines has always been good although we don't fly that often and we usually fly on saturdays. as far as getting your boarding passes printed at your resort for your return trip, i understand that they will do this at the front desk with no problem. have fun--i'll let you know when i get back how the airport situation was!! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

The worst times I have had with PIT security are early in the morning when business travelers are departing, maybe 20 minutes in line. I would get there 2 hours before to be sure.

I have jumped online right at 24 hours and had the choice of most of the plane. A friend and I made the mistake of waiting until we got to the airport for the return a couple of weeks ago, we got the last row which wasn't pleasant.
