AirTran Questions

We leave in 7 days! I booked through Disney Travel, so I have paper tickets in hand.

Is there anything that I can/should do prior to showing up at the airport when I leave? (online checkin?) If so, how?

How about when I get ready to leave Disney? We'll be using DME. Can I check-in the night before, and then just leave my luggage that morning?

I don't know how AirTran works with Magical Express, but I would check your flight times NOW and also the day before you fly. AirTran is known to make lots of changes. I would also check-in for your flight from home, 24 hours in advance, and print your boarding passes. Go to www.airtran.com, click on "check-in" and go from there. If you don't already have seats assigned, you will get them at the time you check-in online.

You can check in with airtran 24 hours before your flight. Just go to airtran.com and click on 'check in' in the middle of the page. At this point you can choose your seats if you haven't already. They charge you $5 a ticket to do so before this point. I have also heard that it is a good idea to check daily or so to make sure that the time of your flight hasn't been changed (they seem to do this a lot).

I haven't used DME yet (but I will for the first time in 36 days!) so I can't help you with that.

Any idea where/how I find this magical number? There's lots of numbers on my tickets...

Your info from Disney should have a confirmation number...somewhere in your paperwork. As for seat assignments - I don't know if YOU choose or THEY assign, since the last time I flew with them I upgraded to business class.

She did indicate that Disney might be able to secure seat assignments for me...any idea what the best number to call would be?

Did a travel agent book your trip? If so, call her. Otherwise, call WDW reservations.

Here's the scoop...

If you have paper tickets for AirTran that you got from Disney Destinations, you can call Disney Reservations, and they will "release" your reservation and give you the confirmation number. With that number, you can login online to either purchase seat assignments, or to check-in online.

I think you can still check-in online and print your boarding passes from home but i was wondering the same thing?

This is a statment from the AirTran website>>> "Passengers may check in online from 24 hours to 90 minutes before their scheduled departure time. Passengers with baggage to check may check-in online and then proceed to the baggage check counter when they arrive at the airport."
