Checked our itinerary for March on Airtran just now. We have had 3-4 flight changes so far, one resulted in us being allowed to change to better flight times.
Well, there was another major change to our itinerary again today. We were flying MSP-ATL-MCO with a 47 minute connection in ATL. That same flight moved an hour later and had a 4+ hour connection in ATL. Airtran had already moved us to the earliest departure out of MSP (15 min. earlier), but it connected in MKE. We are now flying MSP-MKE-MCO. I am fine with that, BUT, due to the change 6 of the 9 of us LOST our seat assignments. They transferred over our seat assignments from the previous flights, but anyone that already had that seat reserved now showed a ??? !!!!! Luckily, we are still 45 days out and we were able to get rows 26-27-28 DEF, so we are all together. We did lose our preferred seating of three rows of AC seating and 1 row of DEF, but we are still together. It pays to double check!
That said, I do worry about those that don't check their itineraries diligently like I do. Some may have lost their seat assigments and won't find out until check in. Even if they paid for their seats, they still may be scattered all over the plane. It pays to ALWAYS keep an eye on your itineraries!
