Looked up flights for next trip and Airtran will no longer be flying from DFW to Mco. Any idea who will take there place? Which airlines gives the best deals from DFW?

Could be because of the merger with Southwest, they are going with the flights out of Love Field.

Yes, I'm so bummed about this! They had the cheapest flights to MCO by FAR! I'm going to check out Southwest's summer fares when they are released tomorrow--hoping they might be comparable.

Airtran not only had lower $$ but non-stop. The flights out of Dal Love are not non-stop.

We've found cheaper fare out of Love on SW a few times. Good luck today....I need flights to NY in June for our cruise and I'm anxiously watching for SW to release those dates today...

I dont expect anybody will fill the place. DFW has many airlines that fly out of that hub. The loss of AirTran to DAL will not affect DFWs volume at all.

We always found the best deals on AirTran. Best price and non-stop flights. Very sad to see it gone. For this trip the best price I found was on Delta (connecting in Atlanta). A little over $190 roundtrip for 12/14-12/27. AA got close a month after I bought tickets (within $50) for a non-stop flight. This trip SW was way higher than even AA. Next time I might hold out longer and try to wait for AA and the non-stop, but that price window was short. Delta has high baggage fees at $25 for first bag, but the savings more than made up for the baggage fees.
