We are now planning on booking the air fare now

I have flew with Southwest before and are now thinking on using either Air Tran or Jet Blue. I like their departure times for approximately the same price.
What is your opinion on the other airlines compared to Southwest

TIA

We are SW people but just booked AirTran, too. I think SW is really hurting themselves by not releasing dates. Once people decide to go they want to book. We got $54 DTW-MCO. Friends of ours go every year on AorTran and say they like it so we took the risk.

Southwest and Continental have both announced ticket price increases in the wake of the rising cost of fuel I will have a link as soon as I can. Look for prices to increase some 25% according to many in the biz.

The only airline I've flown besides Southwest is JetBlue, and they're excellent. I think you'll find that most people feel the same way.

We flew Air Tran and had no problems at all. It's a budget flight without meals but I think they are all like that now.

I've flown both Jetblue and Southwest and think that Jetblue is great, even better than Westjet. There planes have the seatback TV's and the crews have been very friendly.

Im happy that people are talking good things about Jetblue. I usually fly southwest but i got Jetblue for 82 dollars out of Buffalo. I know they have the tvs and assigned seating but i only care if they are reliable and will get me there on time.

We have flown with AirTran the last 2 trips to Disney and they're very good considering that they're a "discount" airline.

• They offer some of the best rates going, including non-stops flights.
• It might not be much, be they did offer cookies / pretzels and a soft drink during the flight. (Spirit charges for everything and it has to be on a major credit card)
• Each passenger's 1st piece of checked luggage is free (not on Spirit!)
• XM satellite radio (just bring your own headphones!)

Hope this helps!

I guess the only difference is whether you want to fly direct or have to change plans. My understanding is the southwest you can get direct and with JetBlue and AirTran you have to stop in either New York or Atlanta (but I could be wrong)

JetBlue offers direct flights from Buffalo to Orlando.

We have only flown southwest before and for our Sept trip I booked Jetblue. I was able to book them a month ago with a cheaper rate than what southwest came out with. I also booked direct flights at great times both ways. They don't have as much selection for direct flights but the times worked into our schedule nicely. I'm looking forward to flying with them after reading all the postive things on these boards about them.

AirTran also has non-stop flights (at least Detroit-Orlando) and we've always saved more money flying with them over the other airlines.

We flew Air tran a year ago (sniff..wish I was there now...) and 4 of us flew out of Rochester (the best airport in the world) for less that $1000 direct return. No hassles..no frills either. They handed out pretzels and juice to the kids. Wish there was a movie...but we'll fly with them again.

I just booked Air Tran out of Buffalo for September. It was only $330 return for two of us and Sunwing even with their special was going to be between 600 & 700 dollars.

Direct TV on Jet Blue

Flown all those. flown to Florida via Toronto as well. I just booked Florida in September with Jet Blue. They are the best of the bunch.Reliable, on time, courtesy and my kids love Jet Blue. The countdown is on......
