Airtran cancels flights

You can just go to the Airtran site and then the reservations section. You are just checking info, not booking, of course. Just plug in your trip dates and available flights for that day will be listed, and see if the flight times match the ones you have, also check if its the same flight number. You can also log into your account and see if anything has changed there if you see something different when checking the reservations section. :)

I do what Minniekins does, but if your flights happen to become sold out, they won't appear on the list of flights anymore and you will have to check them through the itinerary section. That's where I found that one of my flights had changed by an hour, had been moved to another plane and we no longer had seats. I called AT and had no trouble getting new seat assignments.

I'm done with Airtran as well. Our last 2 trips to WDW resulted in the cancellation of our flights home (the most recent being T-giving day 2009). They are good about making changes, however, I now have a very large credit on a card I was about to cancel.

My thought is that the TA wanted the OP to think they worked harder for them than they actually did. :rolleyes1

Not true. I called Airtran first because my reservation was not listed as confirmed as they showed $570 still owing. They told me that I would have to work that out with my TA. It took three phone calls before the charges were removed and my reservation was confirmed. Airtran was less than helpful in my case.

As soon as you book through an outside company other than airtran your reservation states that it is a TA whether it be a private or big one like expedia. On the reservation there are comments that tell the agents to NOT MODIFY reservation and the only contact info listed is the agency you booked through. This is why everyone must go through who they book with in order to change/cancel/etc.

AirTran was less than helpful because they couldn't help. It was the responsibility of the TA you booked through. If I'm understanding your post correctly, the TA hadn't paid the airline for your booking so it couldn't be confirmed until it was paid. Again, your TA's responsibility. Once the TA fulfilled their end of the contract, I highly doubt they had any problem getting the reservation changed. I think your TA is yanking your chain.

Quite possibly a silly question but...
I have never flown Airtran before as they have not been in our market until recently. Everyone keeps saying to "check your flights frequently for changes", but I am unsure where you go to check. Is there an area where you go on the website after you have a confirmation, or do you check the general schedules area? I was considering booking with them since it would save us a 3 hour drive to a major airport, but have to admit all this talk about changing is about to scare me off!
thanks for any info-

When Airtran changed our flights, they sent me an e-mail letting me know the new schedule and I had to 'click' to accept the change. The first time it wasn't good for us, so I had to call them.

Hello, I am booked on airtran in less than three weeks on direct flights from PHL. I just checked my flight times and the only changes were they shaved 3 minutes off the trip time for a 3 minute earlier arrival. Does this mean we are in the clear, or does airtran make major changes (by hours, cancelling outright, or adding a stop) less than 3 weeks from the travel date?

Thank you!

We had a flight booked on Airtran for October. After reading all the info on the boards about checking flights, I checked frequently. Our flights were changed several times - from direct to connecting, evening to morning, etc. The first couple times I called to get on different flights than the one they moved us to. I only received one email about a change. After about the fourth change, I called to see if I could cancel the flight. The times just didn't work for us. They were very nice every time I called, and I had no trouble getting my money refunded. The check arrived very quickly. I rebooked on another airline, and it ended up being even cheaper.

I have flow air tran a lot over the last several years and yes they have changed my flights but they are always very helpful in letting me change the time. I even went a day earlier earlier this month. They never charged more, why would they.
