Did a search and now I am so confused. We will fly home on Airtran from POP in Oct. and need to know how to do that, We have never flown Airtran before and will use Allegiant on the way down. Did a search and found that some called BAGS and some could pay for bags at RAC desk of some of the other resorts. Can anyone give current information on how to do this. I did get form my search that I DO NOT CHECK IN with Airtran @ 24 hour mark. Thanks for your help:thumbsup2

Yes, do not check in at the 24 hour mark, because it will take you out of the RAC desk computer - the girl in front of us last year did this and boy, was she hot that she couldn't check her bags with RAC.

We were given a number to call for BAGS to pay our baggage fee. It has been reported on the boards that recently you are able to pay them right at the RAC desk.

All the information will be in a packet that comes under your door the night before you leave.

Does anyone have a recent packet they could look at and report if it says anything about Airtran or paying for bags at RAC desk.

I have flown many times and used RAC and feel comfortable with being able to figure it out when the day comes. My problem is we will be traveling during our fall break and I have 3 other families from school that I have helped plan their vacation, 2 of them will also be using Airtran and I want to print out detailed directions for them before everyone leaves.Niether of these families has ever been to Disney ( can you believe it :scared1:) The more info I can give them before we leave then I won't be getting phone calls during my trip confused about what they are suppose to do.

Thanks everyone for the help

I always fly Airtran and have used the RAC desk at Pop. We call the Bags number 407-284-1231 (free from room) on morning of our departure and pay our fees. (They give you a confirmation #.) Then we take our bags to the RAC counter, they check us in, give us our boarding passes, tagged and took our bags. The RAC desk closes at 1PM so make sure you have the bags you will be checking there in time.
You can pay your fees at the RAC desk, but I've heard that's just like airport and can charge you extra $. (not sure though) If you are using ME service, (which we don't) when you check into your room they will take all the info, and the morning of your departure you will find bag tags, boarding passes etc., on your room door. Then you tag and take your bags to RAC desk before 1PM or your schedule time.

It is very easy to do either way.
