airport transfers that allow 1 stop at a grocery store

I don't think so. We were there last week and we ordered our groceries from Von's. First time orders over $49 are free. It was great. At first I thought it would be tough to hit $49, but it wasn't that bad, and at the end of 5 days we only had a little bit of milk and soda left over.

The front desk signed for our groceries and even refrigerated our perishable items.

As an aside, be sure to check your room very closely for bed bugs.

Von's is super-convenient. You just order on line and pick your delivery time. So easy. Just order early if you have time constraints. Although, like I said, the hotel accepted the delivery, so the time window may not matter.

If you get a taxi , you can do what you like..

We get a taxi van, party of 6 people.. from SNA $45.plus tax.

from our hotel to Von's its about $6.
and they give us a card we call when we want to go back.. or you can get them to wait.

We take our time due to our first day not being a park day, so we wonder the store and relax.. although shopping with a 7 and 11 yr old isnt always relaxing.

and yes doing an online order is a great idea too..

I AM Canadian. LOL, Gotta' love that commercial.

Anyway, we have placed around 6 successful orders in the past 6 years. Last time we used the AMEX 'trick' for postal code. You can try various credit cards and if accepted, great!! Then it works. Give it a try, Vons is SO much easier (than wasting time, getting the products yourself.) Hojo's has been AWESOME for us to keep them in storage, etc. IF we did arrive slightly later. They also kept the cold things cold. Kudos to them for that!

Things you can't buy in Canada that you may want to consider at Vons:
Diet CHERRY 7-up. (SO good!)
CLEAR capri sun juice boxes
Chex mix (Known formerly as Cheerios Snack Mix in Canada.)
DECAFF iced tea crystal light PEACH and LEMON
CAFFEINE FREE diet doctor pepper!!


Bring some coffee crisps and aero chocolate bars for house keeping 'tips' etc. if you'd like, as they are generally really well appreciated, since they don't get those in the USA.

Up to 3 weeks in advance has been my experience, with being able to edit the order up to 24 hours in advance! I have NOT stayed at the Del Sol Inn so can not comment on that, but I know at Hojo's they have been superb with keeping everything cold, etc., if we have not yet arrived. Generally, we try to get the groceries to arrive within 2 hours of our flight, so we can head to the parks!

I assume so, since they delivered next door to the DI&S, and it's the same owner. Yes, they delivered perishables, and the hotel desk put them in their fridge for us. I ordered a day in advance, but I wish I would have done it sooner, because a couple delivery windows were already taken. Since the front desk accepted the delivery, it didn't matter, though.

For the Canadians, how do they know you are Canadian? I don't remember ever giving my address.

I second that!! Check on the boards, a user just posted that they stayed at this place and found bed bugs in the room.

Side note: I don't want to put just that hotel down and scare people away as it seems the whole area has problems with bugs. So just check your room EVERY night for bugs

I just got the DK Livery quote back- I asked for a grocery stop, doing a sunday to saturday middle of the day trip, I got a quote of 159.00, gratuity included. This is SNA TO 1600 block of Harbor BLvd, and return.

We will be staying in that area and this look like a viable alternative to a rental car.
