I'm sure this has been asked, and done, many times, but I don't know the answer. So, we are flying in to MCO, then renting a car to go to OKW for 3 days before taking a cruise. (all on points)
Do we drive to the ship? Turn in the car? If so, how do we get there? And back? And to the airport? Don't really like the shuttle from the airport to WDW. What do the experts (you all) suggest? Thanks.

Oh, I forgot to mention. 3 days/ 3 nights cruise, so leaving the car someone is not out of the quesion. However, it will be december with high rates, so what is the better way?

We are planning on renting a car one-way at MCO. I read that Budget and Avis have offices in Cape Canaveral with shuttles to the cruise terminal. They do not charge one-way fees. Then, we are taking the DCL transfer back to MCO.

If you want, you can just keep the car and park it in the DCL lot for $10/day, then drive it back and return it to MCO. Simple! We've done it that way as well as dropping off/picking up at Cape Canaveral. Definately easier to keep it in the lot but do-able the other way also. If you do keep the car in the lot, one person gets dropped off curbside with the bags while the other parks the car.

The drive is about an hour east of WDW. The resorts have pre-printed directions (to Kennedy Space Center, actually) which are easy to follow. If you need any last minute items you can stop somewhere on the way.

If you do decide to keep your car in the lot, make sure you don't leave food or crumbs because some have come out to find ants have invaded the car. :scared1: If I recall you shouldn't park near a tree either. (Do a search of old threads).

Kinda in the same boat... (Ironic choice of words!) Remember that sometimes you can get cheaper rates if you go a whole week. Last time i cruised with my parents we had a rental, and we left it in the lot. It worked out great, since we could get there before all the busses!

my problem is sorta different though, Both me and my GF are under 25, So to rent a car, we need to pay a $20-25 a day fee to do it. After crunching some numbers, found out it was cheaper to rent a car for 2 weeks in Birmingham, AL (GF goes to school at Auburn) and DRIVE to Orlando rather than fly out of Birmingham and get a car in FL.

BTW, First post for me! :Waves:
