airport to come into

SNA is the closest (Orange County), and usually very comparable in price to LAX. Even if LAX is $10-$20 more, I usually choose SNA because the shuttle ride is cheaper and off sets the cost. Its also nice to only have a 15 min ride to the hotel after a flight!

Long Beach (LGB) is not as close as SNA but a lot easier to navigate and closer than LAX. Jet Blue is the main carrier there.

I was thinking of taking my family to the West Coast from the East Coast this summer. I appreciate the other airports info as I was only looking at LAX. So far, the best air I can get into LAX is 350 round trip. I keep trying to find a little cheaper as I am looking for 4 tickets. Ugh.

Orange County 14 miles
Long Beach 17 miles
Los Angeles 32 miles
Ontario 35 miles
Burbank 40 miles

Prices can vary between airports depending on where you're flying from. Not all airlines fly into all airports. Rental car prices can vary widely between airports as well. The easiest airports to get in and out of as far as driving to/from would be Orange County or Long Beach. LAX would be the hardest. The 405 can become known as the parking lot during rush hour.

Burbank is close to Universal Studios so if visiting there it can be a good choice.

Many airlines allow you to fly into one of the above listed airports and out of another and book it as a round trip ticket. If Southwest flies in/out of your city it maybe the cheapest and they do not charge for luggage.

If visiting Sea World in San Diego or possibly Lego Land flying into San Diego might be an option. Its about 100 miles from Disneyland and a very easy airport to drive in and out of.
