Does anyone know if there is one? Jet Blue has put a direct flight to LGB in and I didn't know if there was a shuttle to take us to the hotels in Anaheim? We have always flown into LAX and taken the DLR shuttle... Help!:confused3

How do you get there if not by shuttle? It would just be 2 of us:goodvibes

For some reason, there is not a ton of info on this! I searched and searched when we were in the same boat, er, plane, as it were.

The first year we rented a Limo - I would pass along the company name but I do not recall it 100%. Our driver's name was Richard and I think he only had the one car....it was $75 each way. Try Limos.com and see what works for you.

This year we rented a car. We got in a day early and drove to some of the sights in Long Beach. We also used the car to go to the grocery store and the Disney Outlet store. I think the total for the 8 days was $200. Yes, alot, but we had the freedom to run out on an errand (late night grocery trips, etc.) when we wanted without worrrying about public transportation. ETA: This is very important to DH!

My mom and sister rented a shuttle van for drop off and pick up. I believe they paid $60 each way - total of 6 passengers (4 kids, 2 adults). I don't think it was Super Shuttle, but they do have fare calculators on their website. You can also go to the Long Beach Airport website - they have links to Ground Trans. There are numerous shuttle vans/buses at the airport. If you are comfortable "winging it" (I cannot - I am a notorious overplanner), you can get off the plane and hail one of these.

Super Shuttle runs to LGB. We originally had reservations to use them, before our flight got changed to SNA.

It's $35 for the first person and an additional $9 for each additional person. So it would cost you $44. You can use a $2.00 per person, each way coupon, bringing it down to $40, plus tip.

HOWEVER, a taxi from LGB costs a flat rate of $40 (again, plus tip), and approx. $50-55 on return (your hotel may have coupons for the flat rate on your return trip; be sure and ask). So I'd go ahead and do the taxi. There will be plenty of room for the two of you. You'll have the vehicle to yourself, and no other stops made for other passengers, or waiting around to see if the driver has to pick up other passengers while at the airport. It will be door to door for the same cost. You just go out the doors and grab the next taxi. I think that would be the way to go.

Thank you for your responses!:goodvibes

I thought that by flying into LGB (saving myself $40 each way) would be the best thing to do, but wow is it expensive! Round trip for the DLR Express bus from LAX is $50 and that is further away... I think I might have to re-think my airfare picks! :rotfl:

:goodvibes LGB works great for us. LAX is a zoo! LGB is small and easy to navigate - a nice little outdoor airport where you can get in and out quickly. Flying from DC we can get a non-stop flight (which you cannot find into SNA) and you are closer to the mouse than LAX. Everyone has what works best for them and for us it is LGB hands down.

I also would recommend flying into lgb I know it may be a little bit more for shuttle but like mentioned above you can take a taxi for 40.
