hi this migt be a strange question, I am trying to decide between Long Beach and John Wayne airports. Anyone who recently has flown into LGB on Alaska air is the plane real real small??? Thanks for any help

Have flown to both and Alaska (from SEA) and plane was normal every time! Love both airports and would select either based on price or schedule.

You can find out what type of plane you would (most likely, changes occasionally happen) be flying on on the Alaska website. Do a search for the date/time of flight you want and then hit the 'Details' link and it will list the aircraft model. You can then google it or check seat guru. Hope that can be of help to you :)

Thanks for the replies, i did look on website and it shows like 18 rows with 2 seats each side. I know its smaller just trying to find out other peoples views on how much smaller they think?

I flew From Reno to Seattle recently on Alaska on one of this small planes and it wasn't nearly as big of a deal as I had made it out to be. They did take all carryons except for the tiny ones because they won't fit in the overhead bins, but you would be boarding on the tarmac which makes is super easy to get your bags!

My daughter and I flew Alaska Air to LGB last December. The plane was small, but not uncomfortable. The biggest problem I had with the airport is it is very small, and the plane exits to the tarmac, not the airport. It makes it a little difficult to get around in a mobility scooter, which I use. The ground transport is also a little confusing. However, if it's a lot cheaper, I wouldn't hesitate to fly into LGB.

We just were at Disneyland last week and flew from Seattle to LGB. My husband gets motion sick very easily and was freaking out. It was a super easy flight. You check your carryon bags as you board. My husband did not get sick at all and it was a pleasant flight. We waited for our bags on the tarmac. It was a low stress way to travel. The worst was getting through security at SEA TAC (it was just busy!!) . We walked out to get a cab to our hotel and ended up with a shuttle for the same price who also arranged to pick us up for our flight back. I would recommend this airport above SNA.:)
