I know this is probabply posted elsewhere, but I cannot find the search. What are the tricks for getting cheaper rates for this hotel. Want to fly in late on 12/2 for 12/3 cruise and would love to stay at the Hyatt. But don't feel like paying the $197 rate I am getting. Thanks!

Unless you want to try to get it on Hotwire or Priceline, you won't find a better rate than on thier web site. They have a guarantee that you won't find a better price anywhere else, so they control what other sites charge. If you have AAA you can get a discount, or look for specials. We booked on thier site and we got the anniversary package for $174 (taxes included). We also get Champagne:Strawberries:Vip Turndown.

We booked through DCL and they quoted us $189.00. So I am guessing your cost is about right. Now I do have a question as well ~ since I booked with DCL and booked day before hotel - will this cost be incorporated into my cost - or will I have to pay the Hotel when I get there?

We've tried to get less rates for this hotel as well, but it's not happening.

Try to tell yourself it's worth it for the convenience of DCL collecting your luggage, not having to wait for another hotel shuttle to come pick you up, collect your luggage, and then taking you to the airport the next day. Also, the less expensive food you may purchase at the food court is less than what you'd pay for another hotel.

Say these things to yourself over and over and over.... :rotfl2:

Pacha, how did you get the anniversary package? I can't find it on their site.

I would like to ask a question about the Hyatt also. My DIL, 2 GD, 2GS, and myself would like to stay there the day before our cruise in Oct. Since there will be 6 of us would I need to reserve 2 rooms or would they be able to accomodate us with 1 room. The children range from 2 1/2 - 11.

Actually, my questions pertains to any hotel in the area.

Thanks in advance. :flower:

jeeper9's probably not old enough but the Hyatt had a half price senior citizen's rate in May 2004. It's half of the full rate but we got the room for $130 since the 80 something mom and aunt were with us. I think you had to be either 62+ or 65+..can't remember since they were WAY over.

The convenience is wonderful, especially if your plane is delayed and you get there at 3:30 IN THE MORNING. :sad2:

If you work for the Fed Gov, the gov. employee rate is $120.00/night. They do want to look at your gov. employee ID when you check in. On my last cruise there was another gov. employee staying at the Hyatt and we did not talk until we were waitng to board the Magic. He did not even think to ask for the Fed. Gov discount rate. Most hotels offer Feds a discount so if you work for the gov, ask if they have a discount.

It seems to me that in the past some posters were able to get the Airport Hyatt thru pricleline. There was some trick - like to look for the hotel with no shuttle symbols. Anyone know about this?

I have tried that system with Hot Wire for a coworker who I was helping plan. We picked the hotel with no shuttle-but he did not get the Hyatt. He was happy with what he got but in that case the system did not work.

We booked the Hawthorn Suites at the airport and they are owned by the Hyatt. (We are members of the Hyatt pasport thingy so that's a plus). I think the room was $99. and we're a family of 6. ;)
