I'm about to take the plunge and reserve the Hyatt at the Orlando airport for our last night. We have an early morning flight and we thought this hotel would be very convenient and fun to boot. Has anyone stayed at this hotel recently? Any reports, tips, things I should ask for, etc? I'm a bit reluctant to make the ressie because of the price. Is this hotel worth the convenience? Thanks for your help!

It's a lovely hotel, very clean, large rooms, and massively convenient. It is also deceptively far from the runway so you don't hear any airplane noise. Ask for a corner room if you can and give Hemisphere a try for breakfast. I believe they have a buffet, but it may only be on Sundays.

You can usually get an airport area 3* hotel on PL for around $35-45. The shuttle ride isn't much more than 5 minutes.

You have to decide if the extra $$$ is worth it.

We stayed there last year and loved it! The hemishere restaraunt is fun for the kids because you can see the planes take off and land. We received a free breakfast since we were AAA members. A great way to end your vacation!;)

We've always had great experiences there. If you have a Gold Passport membership, they have a floor with rooms for those members that are bigger than the usual rooms. We find it very convenient, and the rooms are clean.

Another thumbs up for the Hyatt. Like another poster said, a great way to end the vacation. Kids love it.

This year we are starting our vacation there. Flight gets in at 10:00ish and with three wee ones, nothing easier than a flight up the escalator and into bed;) We will have breakfast and swim before heading off. Fun!!!!!

Thanks everyone! Makes me wish we could hang out at the Hyatt and have a late checkout. Our flight leaves at 7:45 a.m. - and it's Southwest (so no assigned seats, sigh). Which is one of the reasons we are considering staying at the airport. I have signed up for the Gold Passport. It's one of my favorite hotel secrets. I sign up for all the programs of the hotels we stay at. Never have enough points for a free stay - but I do get Delta miles and we have often gotten other "free" perks.

I found it pretty expensive for the quality of the room. It was great though since our flight left at 7 am and we didn't have to worry about getting to the airport. I thought it was run down.
