Anyone use them for a cruise and then used DCL transportation?

Did you buy the "air one day prior" of book yourself?

How early did you get picked up?

Last time we did DCL we had a land/sea and was picked up at the resort. I didn' realize they made multiple stops and then there was an accident on the road. I got two lessons from this experience.

One - try to get to the cruise earlier than last time
Two - definately use DCL driver said because we were using their transportation they would hold the cruise for us, not necessarily for other passengers

I stayed at the Hyatt the night before my cruise. It was very nice. We booked our airfare and hotel on our own, much better rates then Disney.

I did not take Disney transport. We rented a car. I wasn't too worried about Disney holding the boat. Even if there had been an accident I knew the bus from the airport was behind me. (They had been gathering people in the lobby when we left!)

We always stay at the Hyatt before our cruise. Love the hotel and the convenience. We haven't used the DCL buses because it cost as much or a little more to hire a towncar or limo plus it was much more relaxing. I never worried about missing the ship because we always have the towncar pick us up between 9 and 9:30 so we are one of the first ones there!

We stayed at the Hyatt. It was great. Along with the many airport stores to browse through such as Sea World, Disney, etc., we stopped in the book store to pick up some reading material for our "deck 4 time."

We did book the air one day prior with DCL and will never book air with them again. You don't find out your flight times until you get your docs. For our trip home, DCL scheduled a connection within 30 mins of the other. I trusted them and thought we could make it. No one on our plane made the connection, and we were stuck in Philly for 6 hours. Got home at 1 am.

We were picked up from the Hyatt around 9:30 am.

If we were coming from MCO to the port, I would book my own air, stay the night before at the Hyatt, and use DCL ground transfers to save money. Depending on the number of people in your group, though, a town car/limo service might be cheaper than DCL transfers. Check the prices.

If I were being picked up at a WDW resort to go to port, I would use a town car service. The town car gets you to port so early, that the chances are slim you would miss the ship. I would also use DCL ground transfers to get back to MCO for the trip home to save money on a small group (1,2,3 people) unless, once again, depending on the number of people in your group, though, a town car/limo service might be cheaper than DCL transfers. If you weren't on a budget, I would go for the towncar every time.

Have fun!
