Airport help

I will be flying out from Manchester on 30th August and wondered if anyone could help with security procedures and what I can or cant take in my hand luggage. Its been a couple of years since I have flown and I know things have changed.

Id like to take with me, my laptop, digital camera, camcorder, a psp and ds and maybe some chocolate and crisps. I would like to buy drinks for the journey too but probably inside the airport after the security check.

The only other things I will have in my hand luggage will be my tickets, travelers cheques, purse etc.

Will I have any problem these, especially the laptop, if it is going to be a major hassle I will leave it at home.

Do i need to put things in a clear plastic bag?

Do we have to remove our shoes (if so must get some odour eaters for my DH)?

You can take your laptop, so long as it and everything else you want to take will fit into the individuals single pice of hand baggage, i.e. if there are two of you, you can take through two pieces of hand baggage (The only things are that this pice per person cannot be over a designated size and your airline will have a weight limit on the hand luggage)
ALL your hand luggage (per person) must fit into this piece of luggage, no hand bags in addition, no camera case etc etc.

I use this handy peice of kit for my camera and laptop, papers, etc etc.

Hello,

When we went do WDW in 2005 I took a mini disney suitcase as my hand luggage.

This fitted my camcorder, digital camera, camera tapes, passports, tickets, money, travel sweets etc.

My DH also took his (he looked so cute with his finding nemo suitcase!!!).

I guess you could use the other suitcase for a laptop if there are more then one of you travelling.

We are doing the same in 3 weeks with our hand luggage.

I have some water cameras too which will get thrown in.

If you pick the right hand luggage you'd be suprised how much you can fit in!

We have a laptop bag for our laptop, would this be okay. There are five of us travelling, so we can split everything between us. Eg. DH take the laptop, me with tickets, money etc, in my handbag, and the three kids all taking a bag with there own DS, PSP etc. along with some munchies etc.

Yes, so long as its no more than five bags, all within the size of 56cm x 45cm x 25cm
